Default Next Mod... Suggestions

Look for some guuidence here..... My buddy has a Cobalt SS and he has had a tune, and stage 2 pully on his car and he has to be around 350-365 whp. That sucker moves and sounds awesome! He is (in good fun) telling my I am falling too far behind....

I have the TRD SC with the TRD reflash, and a Forge 007 BPV. (I had a cracked SC mounting bracket that was replaced under warrenty.... by the dealer.) That said....

What would make the most sense for the next power mod? Unichip? SC Pulley? (If so what size and what needs to be done to support that... i.e., tune or not)

Do the lighter pulley's crank, water pump, alt... etc really make that much of a difference?

I know there is a lot of questions here (and as many opinions too!) but I am looking to get this bad boy over 320whp and want to the best bang for my buck.

Oh, yeah, I use this as a daily driver of about 180 miles per day, if that makes any difference.

Suggestions and price points would be a great help as I just got engaged and planning for the $$ would be wise.

Thanks!

Call up RippMods.com and ask them for a suggestion. They have tuned the highest whp S/C tC to 311whp.

a cobalt ss tuned with a stage 2 pulley will not get anywhere near around 350-365whp, it might be faster but nowhere near those numbers.

Unichip or Greddy Emanage Ultimate with a good tune, in combination with water/methanol intercooling.

Crank Pulley yes, WP/Alt not really. My crank pulley is still stock though.

It's attainable, as I am near that level now. A set of RippMods cams will improve your HP, as well as Headers & Exhaust. If you go with headers, get the new DC Sports 4-2-1 header/spipe combo.

The #1 thing you can do to increase performance is to do water/meth intercooling, increasing boost, and most importantly - fuel management. Buy a piggyback first.

Sorry, I hate Monster Motorworks as a company and will never buy their products. They have the only other 4-2-1 out for the tC.

There is. I was chatting with someone over at Ripp and they said they just got a set in for the tC (and it includes the spipe).

Dtru-

My buddy with the cobalt ss has many more mods... I just know all of them off the top of my head. I am sure he is putting a bare minimum of 325 to the wheels... I will ask him though... just to set the record straight.

well from what I know, the cobalt ss with the GM stage 2 and exhaust is about 250 whp, heres a dyno of one:

and if you dont believe it, the link to the page:

I dont mean to bash but a stage 2 pulley and a tune couldnt net that much power from the stock HP ratings.
