On a scion it would sound the same. When you get into turbo motors there can be a difference. JIC makes good exhausts, so does Borla, Espelir, and DC. It really depends what sound you are looking for because they will all sound different.

Not true, actually at freeway speeds the auto is louder than the manual. You should check out the scion central.

And here is the feedback by people who have the set-up

I actually like that system a lot from STYLIS. I went to a meet yesturday where like 5 scion xb's had that system 2 of which where autos. Doesn't sound wrong at all. It sounds really deep, and a little louder than stock.

It does sound great especially precision muffler's system. Mine was dyno'ed at the import nationals an with an auto I pulled 101.7hp at the wheels with a k&n typhoom and the stylis axle back. I carry both products for the local peeps and my prices includes installation. Get quality products from www.precisionmuffler.com and www.scionspecialties.com

Even with just a Blitz ShortRam Intake and the AutoAxle Back, performance-wise I was so damn surprised at the extra punch I was getting! Lower RPM shifting, better feeling torque, all the good stuff, it was awesome for what I was running.

But the sound...now I think it is probably because of the combination of intake and exhaust but, I wimped out and had to get rid of the ShortRam.

The sound was fine and sexy at idle, just what you would want: low sounding rumble that would warm up to a low toned purr at ignition. Ramping up through first, second and third was damn sexy too

The purr would go from low rumble (barely noticeable) to a deep growl that was tuff and boss and all that good ____...You wouldn't think it was an econo-four banger to hear it get to third gear!

Getting to fourth was still bearable up around 55 mph with only a slight rise in volume (you could still hear the OEM sound system at volume level 37!) but, when you went to 65 the sound was noticeable (you would have to crank-up the stereo volume) and then would settle down once the rpm's stayed within just under 4K. Mash the pedal or need to get speed fast or go uphill and a vibration could be felt in your skull that could kill brain cells I'm sure...the sound would level out at times sometimes at 4K RPM sometimes at 4700 RPM but, it was hard to manage keeping it there (for me.)

Now this is all fine and good if you are young, and the only person in the vehicle but, if this is the car you ride in with your older relatives, friends or girlfriend it seems to get worse (probably because the engine works harder.)

Gabe and I had a conversation about it and I understand the explanation of it all but, I couldn't live like that for too long. So, I put in the stock airbox and everything is all fine and good. I'm thinking that the autoBoxes have a harder time managing the effort of the engine than manny drivers. And your experience could be different with the combo of intake/exhaust/header you choose, this is just my experience.

The exhaust sure is pretty and you really have to decide for yourself if the performance edge is where you want to live or not.

I decided you see the exhaust more than you see the intake so, I wanted to keep the exhaust. For me it is a work of art from a truly Custom Scion shop and innovator.

This is not a slam of any kind more of a pitch for Stylis and his work than anything else. he's a good guy and wouldn't do anyone wrong...

not true at all, if you have the correct back pressure, and mufflers, all of them sound the same. If you were to listen to all of the systems that I have done , they all sound deep and low and very very similiar....(Not including headers, intake and or sparkplugs)

i have the magnaflow cat-back and it sounds nice. i don't get a raspy sound from that one. recommendations for exhaust is either the cat-back or stylis axle back.

I assume this is because the Auto has a little shorter top gear. (4th on the Auto is shorter than 5th on the manual isn't it?) The engines are identical as far as I know.

I went into the Club bB's site. They have 6 different exhaust you can hear. They are in Japanese, so I can tell you what exhaust they are:

1. Ekimagu GT Box
2. Kakimoto kai GT Box
3. Modellista
4. Apex N1
5. 5Zigen
6. HKS

http://www.club-bb2000.com/clubbb/index2.htm

I have the 5Zigen axle back exhaust. I have an automatic bB (I call my ride bB instead of xB).

Hey Stylis, it sounds real good till you get around 90 mph and you barely could hear the exhaust. Before I bought the axle back exhaust, someone had suggest to PM scioninla (Adrian). After I installed the exhaust, I like the sound. Not too loud.

Default Magnaflow CAT Back Here

I had the Magnaflow system installed today. So far I like what I am hearing, but have not driven enough to give a seat of the pants performance rating yet.

I also had Injen's short ram put in and it sounds awsome.
