Did anyone get the TST 5000 Paint Protection option at the dealer?

For those that don't know. It's the Wax-less teflon coating that is professionally applied. It is supposed to last for like 5 years without waxing.

If anyone has this, please let me know what you use to clean between washes.

In my last car, I used Meguire's Cleaner-wax and Meguire's Touch up Spray.

The dealer told me not to use Wax-based products as it can strip away the coating.

The reason I ask is: TST gives a complimentary bottle of cleaner, but to buy the next bottle will be EXPENSIVE..

I have no first hand experience testing on your finish, but I imagine Zaino Bros Car Polish products would be a candidate. From what I understand none of their products contain wax and everyone I know who have used it can't get over what it did for their car's finish. From what I understand the first time is a pain in the ___, but after that it's easy to maintain.

Sounds like perma-plate to me, but perhaps it is something completely different. Perma-plates run around $600, how much were they asking for this option?

1 buck a month shouldnt hurt. That sounds like a great deal.

You have to use a special product. It's called Snake Oil. It's a special mixture of Slick-50, Amsoil, STP, and Marvel Mystery Oil, with just a hint of cobra venom. Just the thing to put on top of that dealer profit enhancing finish!

I never believe some of options dealers sell...anti-corrosion coating, non-wax teflon coating, extended service contract, etc. I am wax-holic. I use several kinds including ones I buy in Japan. So far, Zino Brothers Wax is the best one. Liquid Glass is good but is is hard to remove the swarl mark.

I had the same thing done to my car... just rinse and wipe down with fleece or flannel cloth. it should shine right up.. if not, find a wax-less polish
