View Full Version : What's behind the badges?

Personally, I think the xB would look better without the logo badges on the back. (I also think it would look better if the license plate was recessed into the bumper instead of the middle of the tailgate, but that's another story.) Are there alignment holes behind them, like on my old Honda, or are they just stuck on, like my old GMC pickup?

There are no holes as far as the rear Scion and xB badges.
If you want to debadge it, use fishing wire or dental floss and it's best to do it when it is hot (you can use a heat gun or a blow dryer).
You can use wax or Goof off to clean up the residue (make sure to use something that is safe on the clear coat and paint).

E-e-e-e-excellent.

I've done this before on the GMC. I did pretty much like the instructions you linked to, except just to be safe I used a shaved down paint stick to pry with. Wood is less likely to scratch or poke through any protective cloth.

personally I think the "get it hot and use floss" is a urban ledgend. I did it in the shade and slipped a credit card under an edge a little then used my fingers to pull and pop it off.. left no glue or anything, just dirt where the glue met the car.

I used a heat gun, and it worked great. NO residue, and, a little wax, and you could never tell it was even there.

BTW, a hair dryer would work, but you have to leave the heat on a little longer because it dosen't heat up as fast as a heat gun.

Parking it in the sun on one of our hot Southern days would do the same trick as a heat gun. After all, the heat makes my eyeballs melt, so adhesive is no problem.
