Default A Novice With a Question (Superchargers and Turbos)

now i know there is a huge differnece between the two.

as far as one for the B, which produces more hp/$?

i know the super requires 93 octane fuel, but what about the turbo? which is the easier install? which has the best overall results while not killing the drivetrain?

thanks! :D

You need to post your question in the forced induction forum. Better yet, do a search there. Your question (or a similar question) is asked about once a week.

Short answers...

More power? Typically a turbo.

Fuel octane? Both will require a minimum of 91 octane fuel. (This is the highest you can get in some states.)

Reliability? Well both put a strain on your engine. Some will say that a supercharger is worse because it applies additional drag on the motor to produce boost. Some will say a turbo is worse because there is a higher potential for accidentally over boosting your car.

If you have an automatic, take a look at the Greddy supercharger. Very straight forward installation. Pretty much plug and play. If you have a manual, take a look at their turbo. It will require a little more work to install and tune. And you can also take a look at the supercharger for a stick, if you just want an easy installation and about 130+/- hp to the wheels.
