Default Problem with K&N intake

I few months a go I bought a K&N intake and one of the brackets K&N uses for thier brackets bolts to the Transmission/engine mount. Well the bracket that bolts directly to intake cracked. I was wondering if anyone else ran into this problem with K&N. I have a buddy who had the same thing happen so he bought AEM instead but I dont want to do that.

I was thinking about taking it to a machine shop and just having them custom make me a bracket. I cant post pics because I lost my camera.

yea ive got injen and the same thing happened to me a couple months ago. that bracket just isnt strong enough to handle the engine movement. i kinda rigged up a custum mount that bolts right underneath the filter (its short ram right now) cuz thats where the stock intake was mounted and its much stronger there

Yup - a BUNCH of people this happened to .... it happened to more then 1/2 of the people. Almost everybody to my knowledge just left it cracked. I forget how much they wanted for that piece but I think it was way too much to be worth it. If you put the old air box on you dont really need that mount anyway.
