Default Messed up my hood and i need quick answers.

Hey everyone,
Just yesterday (December 15th) i was at a friends house, and accidently drove a little to close into his driveway where he had a big ___ swamper Bronco. I dented in the right side of my hood, and scratched a little bit of my bumper.

Getting to what i need to ask. Would it be cheaper to fix, or to buy a new hood? I want to buy a new scoop hood in the future so i think that this is just more the reason to get rid of my hood and jack on a brand new 1, only thing is tho, i have heard on this site before that not a lot of the makers of the hoods that are carbon fiber are that reliable, b/c thats what i wanted. I'll get a picture up of my hood in a bit and repost it. But any help that any of you could give me would be greatly appreciated, i dont want to run into this problem again fixing my hood b/c it cracked or whatever. Thanks a lot.

Is this a reliable hood?

Im just now going through the same thing......I damaged mine and it needed to be replaced.

I bought a new hood from the dealer, unpainted for 267.00....I got a discount cause I have a friend that wroks at a shop...the real price is around 333.00 before tax......then if you get it painted at a quality shop...you will spend aroun 200.00. So its not a bad idea to get a carbon hood and just slap it on and not have to worry about paint...I have been quoted 560.00 from a good company on here for a Oem CF hood....You can get some cheaper....but I would be picky when it comes to purchasing a CF hood.....you dont want to buy a cheap one and watch it turn yellow in less than a year.

I almost opted for the CF hood.....but with a possibility of a future trade in.....I didnt want the dealer to give me any crap about a CF hood....or have to waist time and money later getting a steel hood.

No joke...I caught the trailer hitch of a Chevy TrailBlazer in my bumper and hood...

As far as that Ebay hood, I believe you are still going to have to get it painted, but I think it would be reliable......send them an email.....make sure it is a direct bolt on with out modifications and you should be fine.
I was looking into purchasing thier Oem style CF hood.

Yea.....I would buy their CF hoods.....They warranty it, it has rolled edges, and are UV protected to prevent discoloring.

Good luck!
