Default Engine mount problem.

Hi all i have a question for people that know these Tc better. While driving today i somehow broke the engine mount. Car has 5k miles. And no im not talking about the rubber piece i see that either the engine mount bracket broke or my block broke. How the hell did that happen i have no clue. My questions are:
1. Where is the timing belt cover is it where the engine mount bolts in on the passanger side.
2. Can that piece where the engine mount bolts in be replaced or i need a new block.
3. Any suggestions.

Ohh by the way car has a turbo and its boostin some power but not too much i think it just didn't hold it. Or something was wrong to begin with. I see im missing one bolt and maybe it broke off or was never put in at all. I have to go and see wassup tomorrrow. F#$k i cant sleep............Even after 4 glasses of wine. Im going to get another one. LOL

1. if I remember correctly all toyota's after '03 are now timing chains. So you won't find the timing belt cover. If you are looking for the timing chain it's located under the plastic cover behind the drive belt.

2. What exactly broke? the mount itself or the mounting holes on the engine block. Pics would really help here. If any part of the engine block screw holes are messed up you might be in for a fairly larg repair bill. Unfortunately I am not sure exactly what or where is busted.

3. pics are definately help on this one. If and when you get this sorted out look into an engine damper, As far as I can tell they are a pneumatic engine mount that more or less helps with keeping the engine from swinging more then it already does.

If he didnt have a turbo this would be the best option... The dealership will void his warranty in a heartbeat as soon as they see the turbo and the mount.. tq what......

If you were to take off your turbo kit and put it back to stock before you took it in to the dealer, you MAY have a shot at not voiding the warranty. just my .02, don't know if you're mechanically inclined, or may have done the turbo kit yourself.

Ok so i checked it out and it is a part of the engine that broke, well actually its a timing chain cover that can be taken off and put back on pretty easy without touching the engine internals etc..So now im just waiting for parts, $270 for the whole new cover, engine mount bracket and new bolts not bad. I was lucky. It seems that one bolt was lose and fell out causing it to have some play and when the turbo kicked in i guess it couldn't hold it in place and ripped it out.

Glad you were able to find the problem. I would look into the Ingalls ETD or speedsource mounts to avoid this in the future.
