Radio Antenna Help
I put an after maket radio in my Scion Xb and now it seem like the radio antenna isn't getting channels. I put the same radio in another car and it worked just fine. Can anyone Help me or tell me why?
maybe this could helphttps://www.scionlife.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=12284
remenber we have power antena in our xb becase is in the rear window
and it has to be on so it works.
Its the black and red wire in the hu harnes conect the power antena wire from
the radio so its turn on wen you heard the radio.I had the same problem and
did this.

make this really simple. If you are using an aftermarket harness for the aftermarket radio, there is a blue/white wire. Make sure this is connected to the blue/white wire off the radio harness OR what you can do, is connect the blue/white on the vehicle harness to red on the radio harness, that way, when even the accessory power is on, the amplified antenna will be powered
Instructions with aftermarket HU's can be a little deceptive, labelling the correct wire as the "power antennae".
We all know that Scions don't have what we think of as a power antennae, one that extends out of the carbody, but they do have a separate antennae amplifier that needs to be powered up, otherwise radio reception is slurpage...
Quite where that amplifier is located or what it looks like, dunno, but the power lead for it is there in the car's radio harness...
Download the wiring diagrams from the top of the ICE and interior forum page- it'll be a lot clearer once you understand how that works...

Yes, xB has an "active antenna" which means that the 2 antenna arrays in the rear side glass feed into a box which has a signal amplifier. It needs to be powered by the radio.
So, it isn't a "mechanical, retractible power antenna" but an "electronically amplified power antenna".
As others mentioned, you power this "active antenna" using radio's "power antenna" lead. There are several threads covering this topic. And the procedure has been covered by others in this thread.
