Default My winter vacation road trip (How did the xB do?)

Much better than I had expected..... Being a teacher, I have from Dec. 22nd to Jan. 8th off... PAID!!!!!! (not rubbing it in ) So i decided to spend the Holidays with family members up north.

Went from Florida City (last city before heading to the keys) to Macon, Ga for a few days. Then Macon to Atlanta. Then Atlanta to Dayton, Ohio, then all the way back with a two day stoppage for some theme parks in Orlando.

A total of 14 days, 2549.6 miles... 10 fill ups and/or top-offs.. averaged 33.17mpg.. My personal high being 37.7mpg.. oddly enough going through the mountains of Tenn and Kentucky. Speed averaged from 70-75mph.... no A/C until the return to Florida.

I am very happy with my trip and the performance of Elizabeth... She was awesome and broke the 40k mark along the way...

Anyways, that's my boring story!!

Wow, that's a lot of miles in the xB. Over a year ago, I drove from DC to Key West in the SUV I had before the box. It only got 20 MPG on the highway (@80-85 MPH with AC) and I spent $600 on gas! Even though it gets better mileage, I don't think I'd try it in my xB- not comfortable enough for all those highway miles. I'll never forget the lovely Katrina damaged Super 8 I stayed at in Florida City.
