i don't think it'll be a problem if you wax a new car... i waxed mine within a week after i took it home...

and i do use meguiars nxt wax for my box and truck... i cleaned/polished/waxed my truck last weekend... my co-workers thought the car was brand new... the results are pretty awesome, especially on dark cars...

my buddy has gotten me to try some zaino and that stuff looks awesome too... and seems to last longer than the nxt wax... just pricey though...

I've used the new Meguiars wax. I really like it. It seems to have made the color a little richer and lot smoother. It is a good product and will use it many times. Give it a shot I think you'll like it.

I use the Meguiars Gold, it gives a nice shine as well.

But you definitely need to wax it. Odds are extremely good that they didn't do that when it came into the dealership and the sooner you get some protection down on that paint, the better.

i was just reading past posts and came across someone saying that new cars clear coat doesnt need to be waxed.

Is this true and if so i should just use zaino z2 polish instead of meguiars nxt tech wax

I remember reading somewhere that it's best to wait to wax a new car for 6 months.
I can't remember where the article was, or what the negative effects could be though...

I believe this is no longer an issue with today's paints. Older paints had a lot more evaporative chemicals in them I think and that was why you waited.

If it was an issue, wouldn't Toyota mention it somewhere in the manual or in a flyer or something?

As far as wax and polish, I think it's just semantics. Wax has become kinda the generic term for it when it is actually made of other compounds.

I've heard not to wax your car for 6 months because the paint releases gases for 6 months after its layed on. Putting wax on it traps those gases and causes paint to peach.

I have no idea if that is really true but that is what I've heard. I would be surprised if most new cars were waxed when they are sent to clean up before a customer takes delivery. But than again if you wash cars for a living how smart can you be anyway.

i dont think you have to wait cause when the car is painted its cured at such high temperatrues but when you have a car re-painted they cant cure it at that hight of a temp so that is why your not supposed to wax it.

I've used the NXT on the tacoma I have and it was very nice. Remember to prep the paint before putting the top coat of NXT on it so that it will be put on evenly. Nxt has a nice wet look to it, especially on darker colored vehicles.

I have gone over to the Klasse products and been very amazed at the quality finish you can get. Very effective on darker colors.

you want to wax your car as soon as you get it. the clearcoat gives off a false protection. waxing the car will protect the clear coat and keep the car looking good. if you wait 6 months there could be damage to the clearcoat, so waxing right away is a must if someone is worried about the appearance of the car.

while on the topic, is it a good sign that the color of the paint comes off when your drying the car after you wash it???

is that good or bad sign???
