Default Does a 12' roll of carpet fit in the tC?

the answer to that question my friends is YES. and i still was able to close the hatch!

so the girlfriend and i went to home depot to buy a section of carpet for her living room, and we figured we'd just have them cut us a 12'x8' piece of carpet. thinking that we could roll it up so that it was only 8' long, i didnt think twice about taking the tC. apparently, you can only cut it 12x?? and roll it up on the 12' side. i didnt realize until the guy was halfway thru wrapping it up. so we roll the cart w/carpet to the car, and i look at it, i dont think the tC is is 12' long!! haha....so here's what i did:

put the right 60% of the back seat down. pulled the front seat up nearly all the way and reclined it. slid the roll ALL the way to the floor of the front passenger seat (the reason the passenger seat wasn't all the way up). now, there was still about 2-3' of it extending out of the hatch area. so i looked at it for a second, and realized i could bend it. so thats what i did. and voila! 12' carpet into the tC, girlfriend sitiing in the driver side 40% of the back seat.

i have never been so proud of the tC.

I did something similar with a 6 foot fully assembled bookshelf. There are days where I want to mod this car like crazy, and there are other days when I prefer having a very functional vehicle.

I've gotten 10' long 2x framing and trim in my tC many times using the same route as you. Can't bend it though.

Drywall and plywood will not fit, for future reference.
