I saw in Super Street or Sport Compact Car that Rado said himself that the headlights were the real headlights, but modified to be lighter. Hum...

And a "Monte Carlo" runs Nascar :D

Well now the hood and the deck lid are from the Monte Carlo and even though it is highly modified it is a 350 Small Block

We picked the 3RZ because there were more parts available at the time and the time constraint to get the car out there and be competitive right away.

If we did use the 2AZ, it is very capable of making big numbers and would be able to run in the 8 seconds range as well.

Sleeved, bored, different internals, custom heads, custom cams, custom ecu, custom injection and a TON of boost and it MAY run close to 9 secs once or twice. But at that point I wouldnt really call it a 2az anymore :P And I still have my doubts it would even break 9's with all that work. Do it and we will all believe you.

you know what, the thing that bothers me the most (besides the fact that its not even a scion) is the fact that there are MANY tuned/modded tcs out there (maybe not many tastefully done, but a few) that are customer/street or even shop cars that are Mag worthy, who cares about a fully sponsored toyota drag car w/ tube frame chassis and a motor that isn't even the tc's.

Damn corporate money grubbers. They obviously paid a crapload of money to get that car into the mag. That article is the least interesting one in the whole issue.

at the time of the SS article, he was still running the 2az block. pushing 550 whp i believe.

Rados car is running a 3RZ Toyota Tacoma engine...its the same motor setup he used in the celica drag car...all the motor work and parts are produced by LC Engineering.
