View Full Version : How stupid would it look?

I am doing a turbo kit and would like a bigger opening in my front grill for the intercooler. I was thinking of just doing an after market front bumper, but don't want to do the rest of the kit.

You think it would look really, really stupid??? Or, you think I can pull it off without being made fun of?

I am thinking of the Touring Polyurethane front bumper if anyone cares :P

How big is your intercooler?!?! Most I have seen fit nicely behind the stock bumper or slightly modified stock bumpers. IMO that bumper alone would looke a bit ridiculous, it works well as a kit but alone it makes me lose my lunch. Plus the stock fender "flare" would not match up, also detracting from the looks. Perhaps you could look at other people's FMIC set ups and find something that fits your taste. I mean I know you're just asking for opinions but I think it would get made fun of, kind of like you couldn't afford the whole kit to finish the look, know what I mean? Good luck

It's a decent size intercooler for the stage 1.5 by ZPI. I figured get a bigger opeing for that intercooler then the stock opening?

I appreciate the honesty. that's what I wanted from this post!!!

well i would like to see what it would look like.. if i was at home maybe i could photoshop you a picture.. but im at work..haha i think i would look alright but you would really need to find a way to blend it with side skirts or something..not just the front bumper..but i say go it...be unique and start your own trend buddy. :)

i say go for it...the bumper is urethane so it nice and strong.. if you have the oem ground effects kit..i dont think it would look out of place.. is your car dropped? this kit is low.. one of our guys i think used to have this kit.. dont quote me on that but im about 65% sure.. :)

I am dropped on hotchkis and trd shocks and struts. I actually bought the Viniati Fierce lip kit and sold it so I wouldn't crack it up. I've had polyerethane on my eclipse and it took a beating and didn't bust.

Personally, I think having just the touring front bumper might look a little awkward.

That's what I think, but wanted to get a good view of what other tC owners are doing

If you just want a front, I bet the Buddy Club would look cleaner...but I'm not sure how much extra clearance it'll give you.

I think the buddy club wouldn't add a whole lot of room for the intercooler

i ordered the BC2 front and will be running it withought sides and a rear for a lil while, i think it has enough room for an intercooler.....

Not bad. Are you going to mesh the top as well?

Is it Fiberglass or Poly?

scion_jon

go with stock, because ive owned many cars with body kits... they never fit perfectly. You could hack up your front oem bumper a lil bit, and mold it, wouldnt look bad at all, probably the best way to go

There is always something you end up having to fix when mounting the aftermarket kits on the car.

I would like to have a little different looking tC then most around here. the tC is getting huge in the chicago land area. I remember when I was lucky to see 2 others in a day. Now there is 5-6 that park in my shopping lot!
