Default turn on the ac.. the engine jumps a bit? & 1 more Q

Hi, wondering if this is normal.. i know in my lexus it didn't do that before.. but it does it now.... its when I just started the engine... then turns the ac on after that.. the engine seems to jump a bit..

Edit: added 1 more Q.. didn't want to start another thread..
Anybody started the car in cold weather yet? sometimes my car cranks for a long time before it starts.. for a new car I find that pretty strange.. shouldn't it just start right up?

This would happen if the engine is cold. When it is cold it goes into warm up mode which kicks the RPMs up, so normaly when you turn on your A/C that also kicks up the RPM, so now you have 2 things jumping the RPM up some, so I think its normal unless its above I would say 1,500 but im not fully sure on that rpm.

The a/c compressor causes drag on the engine which in turn lowers the rpm, the ecu automatically puts more fuel into the mixture so that the car is at a normal idle. Your Lexus probably had a bigger engine, with more torque, and the A/C compressor didn't cause quite a drag on the engine so it didn't make that jump, not to mention the fact the the Lexis is a little more refined than the tC is.

Yes, it's normal. Although since installing my grounding kit, turning on the a/c doesn't have near the affect it used to. My RPMs stay pretty much the same all the time-no matter what I turn on/off, no more fluctation. But in the tC, I'm not sure how much a grounding kit would do. I'd hope it would have a better electrical system than our econo-boxes, with it having the big 2.4L and all...

I think with a new car it might be normal not 100% sure though. I say this because everything still needs to break in & stuff so it might be harder for the starter to crank it over. Also if you turn the key to the run position to add prssure to the fuel system first it my start up faster.
