i am thinking about dropping my scion xb, (1.5" or 2") does the car still ride good?, or does it ruin it ? also if i am goin to lower it do i want to go to the dealer? or have a shop do it?

You can lower your car 2 inchs and have a comfortable ride. What kind of wheels are you gonna have? Or are you gonna stay with your stock wheels? Also you can go to the dealer and have the springs installed for $400.00 or you can drive down to the "Scion Central" in Milpitas,CA to have them installed for $65.00. :D

If you aren't sure if you want it lowered, then drive on it stock until you are sure. It's likely that you will be happy with it as is and then you will have avoided the hassle of doing the modification.

The skirts are pretty low to begin with, and lowering the car greatly increases the chance that you will do $$$ damage to your car on a curb, parking bumper, or road debris. Remember, those slammed show cars don't have to deal with real-world driving, and sometimes you have to straddle a rock or tire tread on the freeway.

I agree with george. It took me 3 months before i decided to drop the car on TRD springs. Ride on it stock for a while.

The dealer will also try to sell you the struts and probably an alignment too. Gabe can hook you up with a nice set of Gold Lines and install them too for a lot less. That's what I did and I love it. You'll be surprised at how dropping it a little improves the handling and IMO, the ride.

If your undecided about lowering your xb, try to find someone who has lowered their vehicle and ask them for a ride!

marcoesse, I live in Petaluma, if you buy the springs you can come down and I will guide you through the swap. It's easy and only takes about an hour or so. Then you can say "I lowered my car" and really mean it.

I say go ahead and drop it. Ever think of doing the work yourself? I wouldnt want to pay to have them installed either. So when i had my Tanabe drop springs, my friend and i did the work one afternoon. At first i was scared to work on my car, never done it before. Now after spring, coilover, intake and many more small mods i feel alot more confident about it.

As for the skirts being low....i dont know about all that. A stock xB looks like a SUV. Most other cars are equal or even lower than the stock xB. If your going to only drop it 1 inch, i wouldnt even worry about hitting anything! When i had my Tanabe df210s i NEVER hit or scraped anything...of course i didnt haul ___ up inclines either. I was moderatly careful as any driver should be. Now that i have HKS coilovers i scrape, but im dropped like 3.5-4 in front. The only thing i scrape is my front lip and i dont care about that anymore.:lol: As for the side skirts and underbody...never hit anything under there.

i lowered my box with the trd springs. it still has a very comfortable ride. sometimes i forget that i even lowered the damn thing.
