Default Fog Issues

Hey guys! I'm a pretty fresh driver. I drive to school every morning to get to my 8 o'clock class but my front view is so misty inside and out. I turn on the defogger but it only seems to work for the rear. Anyone have some tricks to get rid of fogg inside and out?

Yup, my wife's xA gets pretty fogged up front when it's humid and the defroster needs to be on full just to clear the front window and most of the front-sides. The rear-sides are a lost cause. Design shortcoming, I guess.

Use the front defrost/defogger mode with the temp adjusted accordingly. Also, don't run with the recirculation on all the time....keep it on fresh air most of the time.

also turn on your a/c to help rid of the moisture and your selector **** should be set to your windshield and fresh air door open...

also rain-x makes a product called fog-x it apply's to the inside of your windows

Our xA's already have a defroster/A/C link. So if you have either of the defrost modes selected....windshield or windshield/floor....the A/C is on automatically on. Just adjust the temp accordingly.

the biggest factor is the are circulation control, you wana leave it on fresh air when the windows get foggy. I think it even says that somewhere in the manual.

yeah i know but it makes me happy that i use it just to be on the safe side and that it also helps to move the a/c coolant and oils thru the compressor...

Ok, what I always do is turn on the defogger button and I also turn on my fan (is this even correct)? I don't know where to adjust the temperature or how to know what's the right temperature. Also, how to get fresh air? Do I open my window or just adjust that button where it shows an arrow going inside the car? I get anxious driving because the outside builds up mist as well and I don't know what to do. I keep using my front wippers but the mist reforms quickly. Help!

oh with the mist i get that all the time too, your not the only one just keep using your wipers untill your windshield is warm enough to keep it from misting over...

pictures answers all questions heh

left **** is the temp ****, middle **** is the fan speed switch, and right **** controls the air outlet passages right now mine is set to 50% floor and 50% windshild

this one shows that my fresh air door is open

And what about the moisty side mirrors? Just wipe 'em? They're also a nuisance. Also, when I put defogger on, what temperature should it be on? Hot or cold?

Temp should be on hot, I think. I vaguely remember reading in the manual (or somewhere) that there are rear mirror defoggers that are automatically activated when you turn on the rear or front defogger mode.
