Just about to pick up a used 2005 XB from a Toyota dealer in Ottawa Canada.

Car does not have any keyless entry fobs with it.

Dealer says he will see what he can do.

A New York dealer told me that only Scion remotes will work.

Please say it ain't so!

It would be so easy if a Toyota remote would work...and if I knew which ones work?

My fobs were zip tied onto the tools in the spare tire compartment---take a look there in case they were never removed. I didn't know they were there for a long time. Now I have a viper alarm that does the trick of locking and unlocking the doors.

 

I tried to make my '05 Camry fob work with my '06 xB or vice versa. Didn't work, and I found out they're different frequencies. BUT you can get xB fobs on Ebay for cheap and then do the "hoky-poky" steps posted somewhere on Scionlife to make them work. The other option would be to go back to the Scion dealer and exchange more bux than you'd really want to exchange for a working fob . . . .
