yeah, nice pics. Still not diggin both cars. It looks ok with all the modification but who can afford all of those all at once. tahts just too expensive to make a car look decent.

I cant even picture the new xb with a lip kit with that type of front.

The designs arent near as bad as I had imagined...

the 5axis versions look sooo much better. The gen2 xB is nice, but nothing compared to our beloved gen1. Im glad weve got some good pics on the rear of the xD. I really like the tail of the xD. I might even like the xD better than the gen2 xB (except for the hood opening body line, hood should of extended all the way to the grill).

Now I need to see interior pics.

It's looking like the HHR or PT Cruiser, not the hot box it was. Wonder about the internals. They get real integral wipers, better lights?

I was telling my wife about the new xB and how it is more round. She asked if it looks like the Chevy HHR and I said "nahhh it's not that bad" But...after seeing these pics, it is uglier than an HHR. The body lines are too round and smooth and it just looks like it is missing something. I don't even like the 5axis xB.

I'm still digging the xD, it looks mean and less girly than the xA.

I like the new XB, I've been lurking for quite some time; waiting for the new one to emerge. I especially like the new engine specs.

I like the new one too. Then again, I'm not a current Scion owner so I don't have quite the same level of emotional attachment to the first gen (although I liked it too.) I just LOVED the T2B concept when I saw it and this design is kind of in that vein (although I liked the idea of the suicide and sliding doors too.)

I must say that these colors are more appealing than the leaked photos. In saying that, the xB2's rear end screams "Chevrolet HHR". It's highly unfortunate for the brand that these are not JDM vehicles marketed to the USA. I liked how the xB and xA were originally vehicles that were only available in Japan and were brought here for Scion. I guess when the tC was introduced and it was NEVER in any way part of JDM vehicles I probably should've known that was the end. I am glad that these vehicles are safer for the consumers and I welcome anyone who gets one into the Scion community, but I do not applaud Scion/Toyota for these new designs.

I told all yall <lol> that the hopped up new B and the xD look better then the stock pics that were release last night. I so love that orange/yellow color on the xB2 ... but its not slated for production. Whats up with Scion picking that Hypnotic Teal? More like Nautious Teal. Uner the house lighting it looks just so bland ... and grey. Almost like a shark skin grey. Ok, thats one mystery color down, one more to go ( Blackberry ).

Did yall see that new 5 Axis xD? Now thats what im talking about. BTW .. according to Mr. Templin, both of those hooked up cars can be fitted from the factory with all those options, including the dual quad exhaust on the new xB2.

The more I see them, the more I hate them. That teal one is hideous. The front end looks really strange and let's not forget that it's essentially an HHR.

It does seem shorter. It looks like they've gone with a cropped look up top, which likely affected the height. Say goodbye to headroom.

In the press release, it doesn't say anything about HID/Xenon headlights. However, in that Car & Driver article, they talk about it being a feature. Does anybody know if it has HID/Xenon's? Also, anybody know the weight? Thx!

I'm disappointed it doesn't come standard w/a bodykit from the factory like the 1st gen xB. I like the front yet the rear end especially the tail lights remind of a Honda Pilot the first couple years it was out (all red tail lights):

I know, I'm 6' and I have plenty as well. I just really liked the cavernous feel of the xB interior. According to the press release the new xB has lost one inch off the top. It shouldn't be that drastic, I'll have to wait until Saturday to make that final judgment.

Right now, I strongly dislike the xB, and yet, the more I see the xD, the more potential I see in it, which is the total opposite to the current models.

The xD is real hot with the kit and wheels. Only the final price will drive away sales on that model.

I think the xD has way more potential than the xB2, I just don't like it!!!!!

Yea, each time I see the xD, I can think of more ways to really change the look.
In order to get anywhere with the xB you need a new bumper. That's what is so great about the 1st gen B; it was a blank canvas, you could completely change its appearance for very little money. The new B is going to take some serious cash to change up.

I will say though, I love the standard features on both, and the interiors. But i like the xb interior more.

if this is the future of scion im done with them my next car is going to be a 1 series bmw coupe

I don't mind the way the new xB looks, it's shorter off the top, but looks longer, maybe in a couple of years I will be ready to get it. The new xD, on the other hand, looks really really nice. I want to see one and drive both in person sometime, though don't know when that will be.

I Think you will change your mind when you see it and drive it.

I liken this to the difference between the classic VW beetle and the Super beetle. While they Super beetle had better suspension, more interior room, and was all around technically superior . . . . it just didn't have that same vibe as the classic beetle. I think the new xB hits me the same way. It's just not as loveable.

It'll end up growing on everyone except a few select haters, same thing happened with the first and second gen imprezas

I really like the dash of the new xB.

I like the extra storage space in the rear and the gauges , hate the body , the interior , the dash , the dash mounted shifter. and other things. it's cool. it's different , just not for me. least not now.

I wonder what the price is going to be. I'm thinking they're going to have to price it around $20k based on how they price their current lineup.

nah it'll be just more than the tc. not 20k. but yeah.


the more i look at the pics the less and less I like it , the backup light , the large wheel arches yuck. worse and worse.

I really hate the chop top. I was really excited about the FJ Cruiser before it was released but when I sat in it I hated the visibility. I decided I would get a 4Runner or something else if I ever replaced my old 4WD truck. I don't appreciate style that gets in the way of practicality.

This car may end up being a decent addition to the scion line-up, but I don't think it is an xB.

My take on the xB2:

1. It looks very close to the t2B concept.
2. When I see the pics of it with people standing next to it, it actually looks more compact then the current model. Don't ask me why but it somehow evokes the feeling I get from looking at a Mini (stubby and powerful all at the same time). The quirky putter around vibe of the current model is gone, this one feels much more aggressive.
3. I am disappointed in the interior. The plastic around the shifter looks cheap (how bout some real brushed chrome Toyota?), and there is absolutely no flow to it. Compare it to the elegance of the TC and you'll see what I mean. Its just choppy with weird angles, indentations, and shapes...there's no coherent theme outside of disorganization to the interior.

My overall take without seeing it in person is that its a mixed bag. Some elements are done very well and others just seem chaotic.

Yeah I get it. On the current xB the manual shifter hits the passenger's knee when you shift into 5th.

If you were really sporty and drove with both hands on the wheel it would be decent too.

xB2 = ugly

I like how all the gauges flow around the steering wheel so that it's all as close to the driver as possible without the steering wheel getting in the way..

Thanks for posting--I like the Teal color. Will have to see the new box in person. Not sure I am ready for a larger version of the xB............
