Saw '08 xB on the 405 last night.
I was driving about 7:30 last night, on the 405 northbound. I was right around the El Segundo area (just south of the 105), and pulling up alongside me was this bright white vehicle. I just happen to look over and see it, and thought: "What the hell is that?". The guy driving it looks over and sees me checking it out, and immediately cuts over into the car pool lane and flies off down the road. As he took off ahead, I look and see the stupid curve-up-onto-the-back-window emblem, and there it was- Scion!!!
I was doing 75-80 at the time, and he just flew on ahead. I don't know if he thought I was trying to follow him, or he just wanted to show off the power a little. I have to admit that if i could have caught up, I would have followed!!
It had to be the 5axis- It looked pretty low, it had some wide looking wheels, and it seemed to have odd vent looking things on each side at the bottom of the rear bumper. Didn't notice any 'courtesy light' or single back up, but I only saw it for a few seconds.
Didn't get a view of the front end, or full view of the side- just a quick view of the buttend. But one thing I'm happy to say- It's not that big!!! It almost reminded me of one of those stupid BMW suv things from the back, but not nearly as big.
It's like an xb that grew a little and took steroids!!! Nothing like my little box, but it looks pretty freakin' mean. Now I'm interested.

(i went to the auto show)
I dont know. If what I saw was the stock xB with some different wheels on it, then I'd say that the stock is pretty cool too.
I saw this thing for just a minute, but it caught my attention before I knew what it was. Not sure that I'd give up my box for one of these, but I'm definitely more interested to see one up close now.

i really doubt it was the 5axis xB. They dont drive the 5axis cars on the freeway like that because they are trailered everywhere. But, yeah i saw a 08 xB on the 91 Westbound, it was white. It had some rims, looked lowere but no bodykit. Looked pretty good.

hmm.. probably some type of testing or a fun cruise... and yeah..
once he saw you, he probably thought to himself
"oh crap... you saw him... that's not gooood"
and then sped off...
should just be a few more months before they start selling them at dealerships

Would it surprise anyone if Toyota put some of these out as daily drivers to try and get some real world driving on them? It gives Scion a chance to work out all the little bugs that may arise within say the first year of ownership.
If they want a real work out, send them here to the NorthEast where there are potholes large enough to swallow small midwest towns!
