Is anyone running 205/55-16's on the stock 6" wide rims? Any problems with that? Or would 7" rims be better?

Kendo 08-25-2004, 01:01 AM Assuming you're talking about an xA or xB, 205/50R16 would be a better fit. 205/55R16 is almost 5% taller than stock so your acceleration will be even slower. The tire would look better on a 7" width wheel. Keep in mind that a 205 tire is 8" wide so it will have a bubbled out look on a 6" width wheel. If you have a tC, then the 205/55R16 should work as far as overall heigh goes, but you'll be going 1" smaller than stock so make sure you test fit the wheel & tire for any clearance issues that may come up. chucksu 08-25-2004, 01:21 AM Im confused? The topic says 205/55R15 while your post says 205/55R16. So if you want a 205/55R15 yes it will work. http://www.edgeracing.com/tire/746/ Scroll down a little & look at the min/max rim width. The tire can fit, it just will be pinched some. Also the stock JDM tires are 185/65R15 so those are 24.5" Tall tires so this would be close to that once you get on the stock rim. Now for the 16" wheel yes a 205/50R16 would be better & that could fit on a 6" wide rim also. |
