I think it's hideous but as stated above wouldn't be that hard to do. if you used genuine bently parts expect to pay through the nose. if you can go with custom/replacement pieces i'd guess around 7-10 k including parts , labor and paint

no offense, but i agree with hotbox dur. i'm not saying it's hedious, just doesn't match and doesn't look right. just put an antenna in the middle-rear and it'll look like pig. but shows you got cash though if it happen. lolz. just my two cents.

^^^ uhhh .... rolls royce not bentley dudes ..... and i'm sure it's way more than that. you're probably looking around 20K if you're gonna be ordering a real rolls royce front clip.

It's not my style. But I really think the roof line needs to be lowered for the look to be right. Hell if you gonna spend the money, might as well chop the top a little. its a nice photo chop tho.

Being different is good. Isn't that one of the reasons we bought our xBs? A Bentley grill is a little softer and I think would blend better. I'd like to see you try that.

would be insane especially the fact of the nose being worth more then the xb itself

That conversion would be hard to to with Bentley parts haha... maybe Rolls Royce.

Actually, there are probably a number of "front ends" or even just grills for the xB that could be based on other vehicle's more or less 'trademarked' look.

How 'bout an "xB Hum V" ... :P

I dig it too - the curved fenders make it look like the back of a phantom.... that would be so cool to see rolling around town... l0l.... a dude here in queens (new york) has an excursion with an 8" lift and has that entire phantom nose+grill+hood on it! it looks crazyyyy!

I don't care what anyone says I like that ish! lol I'm diggin it because it's way different. Now cost benefit ratio is kinda out there. But I'm sure you could find a knock off version of that grill somewhere. I mean they make them for Cadillac.

Such a lame idea.

It's funny, if you actually ordered the RR Phantom's headlights, that alone will cost more than what the xB is worth. Not to mention the price of the real grill and front end.

I've seen someone put it on an old domestic muscle car, had the actual Phatom headlights and grill put on and it came out to some ridiculous price of more than 50K for the parts. I can't even remember the exact price but it was something crazy.

jwaj2002
07-21-2007, 05:32 AM
if you stretched the front just a bit more, say whatever would equal 6 inches in real life, you would get the curves from the RR fenders a little better, also if your doing that conversion I'd see about doing a bit of widening modifying on the xb's quarters just to help compliment the front end, theres only one other person (that I know of) that has done a conversion he did a mercedes (box suv whatever it is) front clip conversion on his xb

I have to agree, that looks awful. Nice idea, just doesn't look as good as it sounds like it would.

well i personally love it.....but then again most label me as crazy...but then again i having gone thru more then a front headlight conversion on my xb i would say if you have the money go for it...but again be warned of the down time(not having a car) and also after it is done...the consequences of custom fabrication...

alot of people said the headlights i have done was too expensive and not cost effective when the subject of conversions was tossed around...i never really talked about planning on doing it on the forums till i had gone thru with it....it was an inspiration i had to go thru with it...not the opinion of others that urged me to do what i did...its one thing to talk about it...if your gonna do it by all means hey great but its not as easy as it looks...though some people may say so...and sometimes they may have some advantages that you dont in those cases perhaps...

do you have the money to slam it down for the parts and labor? y its taken me 2 yrs is because i had to pay as i went and give what i could and progress went as i could provide the parts/payment for labor... its hardwork for the builder and you yourself all around when it comes to a project car..

now i dont know your situation or if your really serious about it...the thought and look though again is beautiful...

again i'm speaking from my stand point and ive gone thru headlight/tailight conversion and custom metal widebody/hood/grill on my xb and i'm still waiting on the final touches in the interior and rims to get before mine is complete...some may have had it easier then myself...or more money to make it go by faster or connections or own a bodyshop....whatever the case my be i didnt find it easy b/c my first attempt failed and almost landed me bankrupt...with a cut up car that couldnt move before i found the shop the car resides in tuner solutions...which helped me so greatly i was so lucky to find them...and them be willing to work with me...

i'm not trying to deter you i'm just giving you a warning....that whole great power comes responsibilities/sacrifices type wanrning lol  :silly: reguardless of what we all say go with what your heart tells you...it usually speaks the truth about you and to you...

if you do go thru with it...i'll really be looking forward to seeing the progress and final product...maybe by them mine will be complete and moving around hahaha :silly:

do it man, but like the crazy customizing lady said (I use crazy as a compliment cause her box is freakin hot) go around look at some of the hot rod shops and talk to the people that dealt with them, see if they thought the price and work was worth the money, once you find a good shop, show and tell them your idea, ask what they think and a price

I say DO IT! then drive it to Arkansas so I can ride in it lol

I did not read all of the pages so if said forgive me....

if you want to do it look into KIT CARS there used to be a kit out there to make a rolls royce vw beetle and a few other cars.

Would bring the cost down into the JDM body kit range.

yeah... i was on ebay once and a CORNER light for the phantom was 1400. soo... yeah. That would be a real cool car, but you may actually be able to buy a real phantom sooner.
