Default Does Shadow Mica stay shinier longer, or is it just me?

When I bought the shadow mica I was worried because I wasn't sure I wanted another dark car that showed a lot of dirt. (My other car is black.)

But I've been (pleasantly) surprised to discover that it takes a lot to make it look dirty. I'm wondering if it is all the metalflake in the paint reflecting that keeps it looking good longer. Has anyone else noticed this or is it just me?

If you agree, why do you think this is so?

It should tend to look a bit cleaner a bit longer than black. The pearl/metallic chips in it make it look "dirty" compared to straight black even when it is clean. Since it looks "dusty" already it has to get dirtier to really look dirty.

Mine gets pretty dirty, pretty quickly... although, it's winter, I haven't had it long enough to see the summer in it though.

Coming from a PW xb to the Shadow Mica, I have to agree. I think this "seems" to stay cleaner longer. Like burstaneurysm said, it is winter so it looks bad right now with the road salt on the side. Almost looks two tone...

Of course it gets dirty. What I meant was, that, like, even after four days (or ten days), not counting the "two tone salt look," which mine had too, it sill looks shiny and reflects as you're walking across the parking lot toward it... moreso than other colors, especially darker colors like the SM.

Or, like I said, maybe it's just me.

I think I know what you mean. All boxes get dirty fast. When I see a blue, red, or black box, the dirt can really diminish it. I'm not sure how much better mica is, but it does seem to hang in there a little better when its dirty. Also, My box is only a year old, not garaged, in the rainy northwest. Even though our paint is "thin", I notice still, that my car has a luster that can't be found in any other car at work. I don't know how long it will last, but clean, my car still looks like new. And one more for those considering the box. It is so small on the outside that i can wash it in seven minutes flat....so once a week is no bother.
