Default TRD Strut and Shock set w/ Tein S-techs? UPDATE 03/12/07

Anybody got this setup?? I just ordered the TRD strut and shock set yesterday and I already have the s-techs installed on my stock struts/shocks. Long story short, the dealership wanted to charge me $348 JUST to "adjust" the front springs and strut mounts to SEE if that will fix the problem that I was having.. . ..I told them that the front struts both blew out and they said that there was no sign of leakage or anything like that.

There was no sign cuz both struts leaked everything out already and there are two oil stains in my garage where I park my car. The problem according to them was that the person who installed my springs didnt do it right and that is why I was experiencing these problems. All-in-all, they were gonna charge me a total of $554.44 before taxes JUST to replace the front struts. I found it cheaper to buy the TRD's and do it myself at school since im taking the suspension and steering course in my automotive technology program.

But like I asked earlier, does anybody have this setup???

Thanx!!

Sounds good the S-techs are too low for my taste. I have hotchkis springs on the way, can so far Ive heard great things about these spirngs and I plan on getting the TRD struts and Shocks later on. Definately a nice ride with TRDs and lowering springs.

Does anyone else seem to have diff in ride height in there s-techs from side to side? My left seems to sit lower! I called Tein, they gave me some bs excuse to where each car is different, so it will sit diff!

ya I have the same problem as you....the driver side rear sits lower than the passenger side rear right??? It sits like that because our gas tank is on the driver side rear so all that weight makes the back left sit lower than the right side. What they should of done was make different spring rates for the left and right rear side to even it out.

heres how the car looks now. the back end lifted up so now its all ___ high and the front end dropped even more but i like the stance it has. I measured the distance from the wheel to the fenders on all four sides and the front two are two finger lengths and the rear is three finger lengths on both sides. the rear is even its just the way it looks that makes it sit uneven plus the gas tank is on the left side like i said earlier.

how much the trd's run you?

Also even my front sits lower on left, even causing my hp evo's to rub!

S-techs have a bad rep of sagging as time goes on. Check some of the posts about it. A LOT of people complain about sagging with the s-techs.

the trd strut/shock set ran me $460.20 from conicelli parts center. I like the stance that the tein s-tech gives to out car. if i was gonna go with anything else it would have been hotchkis. eibach pro kit just doesnt drop it enough for me.
