Default 2007 xB Scions

Is there a 2007 xB Scion being made----or are they finished producing xB's. If so my 2006 becomes worth more money ---- right????

My understanding is that the 2006 is the last model year for the xB.

We '06 owners can hope so. But with supply and demand and a new model coming out, it's anybody's guess.

Default new xb

i agree with the other guys, i am not to fond of the '08 xb, i think that it looks like someone took a Dodge Magnum and ran it into a wall, then followed up by hitting it in the rear witha Mack truck. The xd also looks striking close to a Dodge Calivber. But will have to wait until they come out to make a final judgement. Still are some pretty awesome cars (scions) though

I might be wrong but I think I have heard some people ( like me ) refer to the later models built as an 06.5 as they started to add the steering wheel controls as stock and I believe the first models built in 06 did not include the controls on the steering wheel.

Proud onwer of an 06.5 TCM xB

One of the smartest guys in here. These things look amazing in person! The speed with the 2.4 liter is impossible to explain. The pictures do NOT do it justice, when you see one in person all the people doubting SCION will be kicking yourself. Maybe I am doped up or too drunk at the even (Anybody in Miami might agree I was a little more then just tipsy) and maybe with all of the mods and body kit it made up for the ugly body but I will say 100% that the pictures do NOT do it justice!

Great find on getting the first one on the lot I cannot wait to see what you do with it.

Make sure and drop it and put wheels on it right away.

Most car will depreciate as a general rule. Some faster than others. Unless the xB becomes a collector car in 10 or so years, it will lose its value. I only got $3500 for a 1985 IROC-Z when it got stolen a couple of years ago.

I like that the new one has 2.4 motor, rear disk brakes, and cruise.
To bad the first gen could not have come with those.

I saw it in person in Chicago, I still don't like it. It's too much like a crossover SUV to me. Also, it's important to keep in mind that it still won't be as quick as the tC, as it weighs 500 pounds more. In any case, some people dig it, I don't.
I'll be hanging on to my 1st gen until the wheels fall off.

Hate it, hate it, hate it.

The very things that make the xB the best city car ever marketed in the US are the things they targetsed and changed.

xB1 has a panoramic 360-degree view outside.
xB2 has squinty little windows and giant pillars.

xB1 can park in tiny little spaces where nothing else will fit except a mini.
xB2 is the same size as every other small car.

xB1 gets great great gas mileage even if you only ever drive in city traffic.
xB2 will only get great gas mileage on freeways.

xB1 is easy to get in and out of, perfect for all the stops you make running around town.
xB2 has lowered everything so you'll have to crawl in and out of it just like other ordinary cars.

I will drive my xB until it disintegrates, and hope by then somebody else makes a car as good. The xB2 isn't it.

Default New XB--A Step Down, Literally!

I totally agree with rdclark on all counts and would like to add a few beefs of my own.

Here are other "features" of the new XB that I have no use for:

* Less headroom
The XB-1 had the most headroom of any car you could buy--46 inches if I recall. I'm 6'6" and I need every bit of that room to feel comfortable. The new XB is following a really annoying trend in car design. Every year, car makers have been lowering the roof lines more and more. The result is a generation of autos that are IMPOSSIBLE for anyone who is taller than 5'11" to fit in. The new XB is headed in this direction.

* Roof mounted antenna
Hey, great idea Scion! Now when it gets torn off by garage doors, car washes, and low hanging branches, we can add to Toyota's revenue stream by paying the no doubt hefty price for a replacement antenna and body work to fix the roof. Ain't progress grand?

* Spoiler
C'mon guys. Let's get real. There is no earthly use for this on a passenger car. Why do people put these things on? Do people actually think they look "cool?" Do they actually believe they produce any sort of benefit when driving at any lawful speed? I saw a freakin' CAMRY in the parking lot the other day with a spoiler! Oh yeah, like this car really needs to counteract all that lift that's generated when they're racing over to the local Costco to pick up some Huggies!

<CHORTLE>

I have a spoiler on my xB. AND I have an '05 Camry SE -- WITH a spoiler!

You're right, of course. They are NOT there for any practical reason (don't tell my wife I said that -- I have her convinced the xB spoiler helps keep the rear window clean; who knows, maybe it's true!). But I LOVE the way they look! That said, I'd have gladly forgone the spoiler on the Camry, but it was on the one that had everything else we wanted, so there it is.....

I've got another: The speed display is an LED display!!!

Instead of a real speedometer, it's got numbers that flip as the speed changes. THAT IS SO WRONG!!!! Shame on Scion for allowing that.
