I thought I had this figured out, but I guess I don't! Ok here's my delema. I just ordered Eibach Prokit for the tC yesterday because It sounds like it woud fit the picture I'm looking for my everyday driver. Not to low but enough to look sexy, especially if I go with 18's" Alot of sources said that I would have nothing to worry about if I stay on stock struts, now after doing some searches on here, I'm thinking it's not such a good idea! Secondly I though Eibach Prokit was 1.4" drop all around, now I found places on the web that say 1.2" all around! What the hell! If it's only 1.2" then I would have went with TRD and saved $50 or so plus .5" lower than Eibach! Can somebody please help clear this up for me, cause I thought It was a done deal, and now I'm second guessing it! Thanx!

I run full trd setup. to the best of my knowledge the eibachs pros ARE the trd springs. Your stock struts will last for awhile. Some longer than others.

^ Ya, that's my understanding too, the Eiback Pro Kit should be the same as the TRD springs, except they're different colors. And as already mentioned, the stock struts will function ok for some time.
I have the TRD springs with stock struts, but don't feel the struts are valved optimally to damp the higher spring rates, the ride is too "bouncy". I'm sure that the TRD struts would resolve the issue, and that they'd work fine with the Eiback Pro Kit too.

x2. i'm on eibach pro kits with TRD struts/shocks (see my pic for reference). as far as i know, the TRD springs are the same as eibach pro kits. the eibach drop is more than 1.2" (once they fully settle)
the drop is just about perfect and i get compliments all the time. in addition, ride quality is not overly compromised.
it is quite a bit stiffer with the TRD shocks.

Thanks everybody for the input, I really appreciate it! I've been driving myself crazy all day at work, trying to figure out if I should keep the ProKit and install them on stock struts or send them back and get TRD springs and struts! I really can't afford nor was I planning on buying struts, So I guess I'll just install the Eibachs when they get here, and call it good for now!Thanx again!

Eibach's are nice, I had it since I bought my car 35,000 miles and stock struts are still fine.

I have the Prokits too. I think they are perfect for daily driving. And the ride comfort is not bad at all.

Well i've lowered many vehicles with different springs and honestly i would stick with the TRD springs because if you ask for 1 inch or two inch drop that is exactly what they give you.who knows toyota better than toyota.

i would definetaly go with the trds over eibach, better spring, cheaper price. btw red, white, black... its called powdercoat, under the paint its the same spring.

from what this one dude told me
eibach makes the trd springs but just branded by trd
eibach has different springs and so does trd just eibach makes the springs for trd kit...not sure on the specifics on the lowering..as far as my knowledge..trd is 1" 1/4 and eibach is 1.4"
im confused myself as far as what to get
i want something easy and nice
i might rock trd full setup...struts and shocks

ive always heard that the trd's are eibachs like otherws have stated. I will never understand why some trd's sit level and others the rear is obviously lower? what gives? bad install?

I just Looked on eibachs site and they list the pro kit as 1.2/1.2 and then summit racing lists it as 1.4/1.4, kind of weird that its advertised differant depending where you look..oh and they also have a sway bar kit listed for the tc as well as part# 8284.320...kind of interesting as ive never seen any talk about it.

eibach does make the TRD springs they told me that when i called eibach. but they would not tell me if they were the same as the pro kit rates or not. they just said toyota will use some of eibachs springs and re badge as trd and they said they will also have a design from toyota and make it for them. all they would tell me was that pro kit for the tc is like 20-25%stiffer then stock and the sports were 30-35%stiffer.

if TRD springs and Eibach pro kit springs are the same why would you pay $50+ more for eibach when you could get TRD. seriously asking because I was thinking about getting Eibachs but if they are the same i'll go with TRD.

Well since this old thread came back to life I might as well update! I went ahead and installed my Eibach's on the stock struts, and have put about 15k on them since with no problems. I'm happy with the stance and performance of the car so far! I also installed the TRD sway a couple of months after the springs and that made a huge improvement in the handling.I'm planning on getting some 18's in the spring, so I think it will look even better!

hmm i think eibach pro kit is the better choice in this one at least imo
