Default Tuning special at Sound Performance in Bloomingdale, IL

I am trying to get a bunch of Scions together to get their F/I or N/A cars tuned by Sound performance in Bloomingdale IL 60108

The more cars we get, the better the discount . Their shop is known to do a lot of sick Supras's and they do some great work.

check their site out http://www.spracingonline.com/default.asp

Normal tuning rates are $200 an hour, and it usually takes 2 hours with Emange ultimate.

post on here if you are interested

Thanks-Scott

I'm down but I'm planning on doing tuning next week sometime. Unless this happens soon, I was going to go down to Speed Quest over in Waukegan, $125 an hour. Then again SP has a big reputation and I know they would tune it right. Let me know if and when you guys do something.

I doubt we can get a big enough group in a short amount of time.

I'm planning on doing a stand alone EMS soon with the engine build so I might still be around. The piggy-back isn't going to cut it when I start getting into higher rpms and boost.

I thought Dezod used an ultimate emange???
I know the Greddy uses the blue, that's why I asked.

I am almost tempted to sell my emanage and just go with the AEM EMS since I may be boosting it up, but $2000+ is a lot with my wedding 2 months away!!!
My fiance would kill me!!!!!

If you’re aren’t going to mess with the redline or start getting crazy with the boost, assuming you’re running an 8.5psi wastegate spring, I’d say you’re going to be fine. There’s no sense in running a stand alone under bolt on conditions, although it would be perfect with a stand alone. It just doesn’t justify the cost. I thought about running Ultimate but no point in upgrading just to throw it out with the stand alone this summer. If you really want to run closed loop, get the Dezod part throttle black box. It’s cheap in comparison.

the plan is to get the ZPI low compression block with all the internals and then add the stand alone and go to the track!!!

but that will be a nice 10,000 that I won't have until after the wedding.... These damn weddings get expensive!!!

Oh, you want the complete stage 2 long block. The price tag they’re putting on that thing is really hard to look at. I’m getting all the internals and having the block build, saving a couple thousand and getting almost the same thing. I know ZPI has sleeved the cylinders on their toughest block. If they installed it and tuned it for free, I’d consider the engine but I’m getting a little ahead of myself. We’ll see what happens.

maybe I can work that into the deal if I do go with them.
I was actually thinking of just doing what you did as well and save some money.

where are you getting the work done on your motor?

Probably summer time to give the earliest estimate. I have my sights locked in on a LSD and the Axis lip kit. I might end up working something out with Paul over at Dezod on the block and the work. Otherwise there's a shop not to far that does great things with builds on imports and muscle cars. I don’t know how ZPI is coming up with that price, maybe they’re getting brand new blocks which would help to justify most of the cost. But hey, working in a machine shop myself, I know that labor isn’t cheap. But $7k for an assembled long block…. WOW!

There is a core charge for the block, so I am guessing they are taking the stock block and doing the work on it and reselling it.

if I can get the work done for a lot less around here, I'll go that route. I started to piece it together and it came out pretty close, minus all the time to build it.

Any place you went to that has a great deal on some of the internals?
