What is the true price variation of the Scion tC? Edmunds and KBB both have two types of Scions listed (Base and Spec), when I asked the dealer about the SPEC model and pulled it up on edmunds and KBB he was completely stumped and said you can't get a scion for that low of a price.

i have a tc spec it is basically $1500 chepaer but it doesnt have all the things the regular tc has. The major ones are no sunroof, 16" steel wheels vs. 17" aluminum wheels, no cruise control, no audio controls ont he steering wheels and different interior

 

thats odd, i dont have a spec tc, but i have no audio controls on my wheel.... Is that really a difference? or an option?

 

^^ you have an 05 tC, 06 and up have audio controls on the wheel

a lot of places don't know much about the spec tC. scion made it.. then dropped it pretty quickly.

i'm not hating on the spec... but ask most people and its aka "a failed attempt"

don't quote me on this, but as far as i know, they aren't producing it any longer.

 

i got one, yeah its basicly a stipped tc, no sunroof, no steering controls, steelies, and the radio doesnt change colors.

 

yeah i got a spec too. I had to have the dealership preference one (basically they had to put in a request for it), and it arrived in about a month. I'm very happy with the spec because I've been able to spend the $1500 I saved on stuff like tinting the windows, upgrading the sound system, and an exhaust system.

i'm pretty happy with a spec tc b/c i'm only 16 and my parents did not think the 17" wheels and sunroof was something i had to have.. so they i just had to settle with the spec tc but its still a car =)

 

I saw one at my local dealership for the first time this past week. It looked ok. but i think i would miss the sunroof WAYYYY too much just to not spend 1500.

ps. I dont have steering wheel controls either man and i love it. Cause if you go after market its a pain the the A$$ to get those things to work with ur aftermarket radio.

 

FYI, only the i-pod upgrade changed colors

haha sure am . i had to work for it ,my parents made a deal that if i made top 10%(automatic acceptance to any texas public university) i ranked 78 out of 905 out of my class at the middle of my jr year so they got me a tc =D

 

 

thats a big class what school in houston is it?
alot of the dealers here in houston still have spec models.

 

langham creek high school the class of 08 is the biggest class in our school after the freshmen since they dont have drop outs yet
