Default Exhaust delay on east coast?

I got my Scion almost two months ago, but was told that the TRD Exhaust was delayed and that the dealer (Herb Chambers Boston) would install it at a later date. Has anyone else been affected by this? I talked to my salesman a couple weeks ago and he said that the part is still on backorder, but they hadn't forgotten about me. Just checking to see who else out there has experienced this. Other than that, great car and great service from HC.

A lot of the dealers seem to be on a different distributor network. I ordered the exahust from mcgeorges (in VA). It got here in 3 days and the dealer charged $40 to install. We wound saving about $80 even factoring in shipping (we ordered a bunch of stuff). Someone please correct me if I'm wrong, but even if you order the exhaust as an option (as opposed to an installed part), it is not covered by the Scion B2B warranty, it is covered by the TRD 1-yr warranty.

Our salesperson was P.O.'d that his parts guy wouldn't go outside his net to get the exhaust and wouldn't believe we had purchased a GEN-YOU-WINE TRD exhaust until I pulled it out of the box. He has lost commission (and he claims some sales) over the inability to give customers an ETA for the exhaust. He tried to tell us it was recalled by Scion because it wouldn't pass CARB tests in Cali and still claims the order entry computer locks out that part number.

Just tell your dealer to order it from mcgeorges or partznet if they are able. They may lose a fraction of their profit margin, but it seems to be worth it to maintain good will with new and potential customers. My wife didn't want the hassle of having to go back to the dealer after she took delivery, so we waited for the part to come in and she is picking up her BCP m/t w/SAB tomorrow!!!!!!

They are just now getting a separate supply in the dock. Usually they are assembled with the cars, but if its installed later, the shipment is taking a while to get there. Be patient, I got my exhaust a goood ten days before it was supposed to be released, and I still had to wait. Just be patient, keep driving without it, then once it is installed, you will be pleasantly surprised. It sounds great.

hey, that's pretty nice...

i'm not a big fan of huge tips... the ricer generation just killed that appeal for me. the TRD one is nice and classy looking... can't wait until dyno numbers come out for both!

nice to see stuff is coming out for the tC now.

Belive it or not, the precisionmuffler.com axle back tC version has a light tone to it and has the performance of the TRD. The tip that is used fills up the opening that everyone has on their rides. :D This is not a ricey muffler.

i'm sure it isn't ricey... i'm hoping that it ISN'T ricey... but the oval tip on the TRD exhaust fills up the gap prefectly as well and looks pretty classy. the bodykit made the stock exhaust look like an innie bellybutton.

i'm sure I'd have NO qualms about their exhaust and i didn't say that their exhaust was ricey... i just don't like big tips on mufflers for the above mentioned reason, that's all.

most dont care about keeping their customers happy..there toyota..they know people will still buy the car because its a toyota..they know people buy toyotas because of the quality and will even though customer service is bad...to make things worse there is only one scion dealer on this island so its not like we could just go to another dealer..there smart in the sense that they know they got the monopoly for scions...but aren't the best sales people/managers

are you retarted, it says it's for off road use only, why the hell would you want to take a tc off road, sometimes it scrapes on high speed bumps.

Most things like exhaust & headers along with some intakes say for off road use. Why? To keep it legal. That way if some cop in your area gives you truble for it you cant turn around & sue the company.

the pm.com exhaust looks sick!, I don't think it looks anything like a rice can, plus I hear the sound is pretty nice, Im going with the catback system from pm.com myself.

probably because it's not CARB certified.
