So I was putting on my new springs and in the process, I accidentally disconnected the axle boot on the drivers side with pretty much all of the fluids inside leaking out. Luckily, I was able to put the boot back on, but I'm not sure how much lube/grease is in their left. How much of a problem does this pose? I contacted my dealership and they said it would cost me around $250 for the job. The crappy part is that the parts only cost $25, but the labor costs $225.

Any help will be appreciated.

Not a big problem, same crap happened to me, its just a little metal
ring that holds it all together, just get some grease and zip tie
for the time being, but I would definetly get it fixed you wouldn't want
anything to rust.

I got mine replaced for free, The dealer was cool about it they new I
screwed up they covered under warranty... great service Toyota Of Lewisville.

Just take it up to the dealer and ask if they say it wont be covered
asked them if they can give you the hook up and do it for free. worth a try.

It doesn't matter, just go to your local auto parts store
or wal-mart and buy the automotive grease its the same
as the original, just not heated and liquified like the
one that came out.

u can fix it yourself... it is transmission gear oil that leaked out i believe... and if u get a rubber mallet you can just tap the entire assembly back into place... from there, there is drain screw and a fill screw... just drain the old oil, and then fill it back up again...

i did this when i installed my stage 3 clutch.. i cant remember the name of the oil i used but it made the gears feel soo much smoother... hope that helps a bit... 250 is a waste of money for something so simple to fix

oh my bad... i thought u knocked out the entire axle from the tranny... well if u did then i hope that helps... otherwise everyone else is correct... just lub it back up

No it wasn't that, its just a little rubber boot that came off (CV BOOT),
It ataches to you wheel brake assembly.

Its just regular grease, if that had transmission oil in it then you
would probably have a bigger problem.

I would try to slip one side of it off and squeeze some more grease into it. Go to an auto parts store and ask for CV Boot/joint grease. After you put some in, just slide the boot back on and either use the metal band to secure the boot... or a big ___ zip tie.
