Default Real quarter mile times for tC

O.k. i know what car and driver and motor trend have to say about their stock time but that is a pro driver and i dont think any of us would be able to do that unless you have mad experience.....So if anyone has gone to the track can you tell me what your times were. Thanks.

ive seen about 20 diff people ask this in 19 diff threads. I think the mods need to create a "Official Drag time slips thread" and only people who have time slips can post up there. Then people will know that if that thread is emtpy, there have been no official times. : )

Oh yeah it should be sticky'd as well. Not harrasing you man, but it would save alot of people alot of grief.

times you see in car mags can get better based on practice, track time and conditions. case example stock gts 6spd back in 2000 from mags were 15.3 to 15.7 and when people got enough seat time, times dropped 14.8 to 15.1 stock for a celica gts 6spd.

I'm always leary of what people claim they got with a car that is "stock". I've seen many times where people say their car is stock, but it has different tires and weight removed. Sometimes they even have suspension mods and still call the car stock when discussing their drag times. Sometimes the magazine times are slow. Possibly, because they have deadlines and a limited ammount of time with many cars, thus they sometimes test in less than perfect conditions. Other times they seem to achieve extremely fast times. Maybe some car companies send them ringers, I don't know. Just take whatever times you see with a grain of salt.

give it time and people will start going to the tracks. its still too new and plus people are probably waiting until its somewhat cold to go the tracks.

true!

i ran a personal best of 14.9 with no engine mods but playing with tire pressure and spare removed, most of the time i was running low 15's. when i installed cai, springs, shortshifter i was running 14.5 to 14.8 with spare and tire pressure @22psi in the front. so, yes people can say stock but they always refer to no engine mods.

You're talking about your Celica GTS, right...?
