Default Celica GTS\ tC brakes same?

I was looking for a big brake upgrade for the Scion tC but I want to rock mostly TRD parts. I read somewhere when the tC first came out that the front brakes on the Celica GTS are the same parts as the tC. Can anybody confirm this or can y'all direct me somewhere where I can find this information. The brakes I'm refering to are the TRD Big Brake Kit for the 2000-2003 Celica GTS. It includes 4 piston calipers and bigger rotors, braided lines and brackets. Check it out at TRD Sparks. (On Sidekick and can't put links)

I know the tC has the same pads (at least) as Celicas (not sure if GTS or GT)...I don't know about the calipers

Nope, definitely not the same as the stock tC, which has single-piston sliding calipers.

Guess they'll fit for an upgrade.

Yes, aftermarket brakes for the 2000-up Celica will fit the tC. The TRD brakes are re-branded StopTech kit with a $300+ dollar up-charge.

I had them on my tC and have them now on my STi.

We (StopTech) are technical partners with TRD and do not offer any kits for the tC with StopTech branding. They are only available in North America through TRD with their logos.

Nice! are those brakes better than the Brembo's on the STi? My best friend has an STi and that's the main reason I want to upgrade.

If you try to order a kit through any of those shops, they will not be able to get it for you. I am the StopTech account manager for the eastern half of the US which covers KillerTC (GSC Motorsports) and ZPI so if they place an order with us, it has to cross my desk.

Are you serious? So I can only get a TRD kit if I wanted a StopTech product?

For a Big Brake Kit, yes, it would have to be through TRD. For anything else we offer for the tC it can ordered from one of our resellers or directly from us.

Lame. Just like the Quaife LSD, TRD re-brands other products and gives them a $500 price addition.

TRD Sparks dawg! The main reason I posted this thread is because I want em to say TRD. How often do u see a tC with TRD calipers? I don't want all sort of brands on the whip.
Wanna built the car as if Toyota released the car like that. Like an STi or a Type R. I'm willing to pay the extra cash.

Most of the time TRD parts are just aftermarkets rebranded. They are not Toyota parts...

Does StopTech offer a kit for the Celica that would fit the tC with Stoptech logo's?
