Paint Scion xB Engine Cover?
I really want to paint the Engine Cover in my xB and I would assume that this is pretty simple, but I wanted to know if anyone knows the type of paint to use?
I would think it needs to be something that can put up with a lot of heat from the engine. Thanks in advance!

The engine cover doesn't even get that hot... I just used regular old spray paint for mine. My only gripe is that it doesn't adhere as well as spray for plastic... mine is holding up fine, I clear coated it and unless you start digging into it, it'll do fine.
If I were to do it again though, I'd use spray for plastic.

I used high heat engine paint, but you can get away with regular paint.
Just sand it down, clean it and spray light coats. If you want the letters done spray the color of the letters, let dry and then tape up the letters. Paint the rest. Clearcoat, wetsand polish... If you want to mail it to me I can color match or whatever. If you have RS4.0 xb then I can even get that color too..
Good luck and let me know with a PM if you have any other questions or need some more help with painting.. JOE
