Well I want to do some basic mods right now and wait for some more money to come in.

I am going to get Slot and cross drilled rotors. I know they weill be of little benifit for me since I onyl drive on the high way and go no faster than 70 or so. Bascially it's for looks.

I also would like to paint my calipers. I dont have a pick of my car but its Nautical Blue. What colors do you like? i was thinking red or maybe a glossy black??? Any one have pics or tips on what kinda paint to use?

I would use blue. It looks great when the brake color matches the car.

As far as what paint to use, I used the Duplicolor stuff from any auto parts store. Worked really well and plenty of paint left over to touch everything up for this show season.

nice write up man, I did it the same way for my Civic, well except for the rotary tool. I just used sandpaper and elbow grease....sux
I also used the duplicolor high heat brake caliper paint
I have a nautical Blue and planning to do the same thing.

 

I would use red, I like the contrast of red off of a blue.

 

I did mine in black, they don't stand out but that's what I wanted. I too used Duplicolor caliper paint, but I didn't spray 'em (too lazy to mask off). I just sprayed the paint into a cup and then used a foam brush to apply it.

i used high heat engine paint. i took a plastic bag and put it around the rotor then a big plastic sheet to cover the wheel well and area of the car. i also used 3M adhesive spray between the high heat paint to give it more thickness and durability. i did this cuz the first time i painted the calipers the paint chipped a little after a while

can you use any high-heat dupli color paint? or does it have to be the caliper paint? Red looks nice.

What do you guys think about orangey-yellow calipers on FM?

 

I also used the Duplicolor kit...Red was my choice too The Caliper paint I used came in a kit with the cleaner and you brush the paint on. It was easy and took just over an hour.
The paint also comes in spray can if you prefer. I have seen yellow, blue, red and black. A high heat paint for engines and exhaust should work. But Just read the label or ask at the counter to make sure. Calipers get really hot. The label reads the Caliper paint will handle heat up to 500 degrees. I hope this helps you out....

 

The pic is for the Black wheels on FM . As for the color . On Nautical blue , 4 choices , maybe 3 . Blue , Red , Yellow , or Green . Black , imo , looks bad on the blue . been there . Blue would look great as the G2 paint is VERY close to the car color . It works really well . The red goes without saying . I suggest blue as I have seen all of the above on the blue . I do suggest using G2 as it is a better paint than the Duplicolor and is almost impossible to chip .

TireRack or Amazon or Street Beat Customs or G2 themselves , to name a few . And my cross drilled slots with MORE new brakes are going on soon . WoooHooo .

 

Black for my SWtC... ima redo them soon though.

 

i dunno but its like 10bucks to paint them urself... its really easy
