Anyone else have problems with second and third "grinding"?
My second and third gears dont really grind so much as they dont go right in and kind of bounce before going into gear. It only happens sometimes and I need to shift really slow for it not to do it. Is this normal?

Toyota transmissions have been known for being "notchy" when cold. Though I have ground second at normal low rpm shifts with the clutch all the way in once or twice lately. 16,000km (12k miles ish).

Im at 47k miles and its been in the shop for trans work on the main shaft bearing. I was just concerned as this started less than a month after It left the trans shop. My old car did it in second so I thought it was normal, but now third is doing it.

Had this issue with 2nd and 4th gear. This was before and after the TSB was done for the input shaft bearings. Eventually it stopped going into 4th and had a new trans put in. Later on down the road, the new trans started the same input shaft noise so I no longer have that car.

A day later I felt the issue again. My mechanic drove it and felt it also so it's not just me. The stealership lied to me.
However I found out they replaced my oil to the stock Toyota garbage when they fixed my shaft bearing. Changed it with redline mtl 70w/80 and it's like night and day. Shifts so much smoother eliminated the knotchiness of the trans and the grind is gone. It's like a brand new car.
