I was just gonna post something similar. My wifes xa has a little over 100k on her and clutch is slipping. I helped a friend replace a clutch on his civic a few years ago; and feel pretty confident that I can do it with some help on her xa. I just wanted to know exactly what parts I need to order and from who do you guys recommend? I have seen many clutch kits, some with tob's and some without. I know on my tc they replaced the throw out with a toyota one because supposedly the aftermarkets are crappy. I dont want to do the job twice so any input with appreciated.

do you have a manual too? if you do, there is a kit at autozone that includes every recommended part you need to do a replacement all for $109.

Autozone doesn't list a clutch kit for the xA. They list one for the Echo for $119. Does this kit fit the xA??

It's a 6-8 hour job for a mechanic. You have to remove the engine in order to get to the transmission. Here's some links:

If the clutch is slippinig or something, go ahead and replace it. If you are just worried because of the mileage, don't be alarmed. I'm at 287,000+ with the original clutch.

Hmmm. I am thinking of replacing my clutch due to mileage at 191K. I think it's about 2/3 highway miles.

I am curious - what have you replaced on your XA at 287K?

Still on original clutch at 290,000. So far, I've replaced the alternator (255,000) starter (270,000), water pump (195,000) and a wheel bearing (210,000). Pretty durable little car.
