My gf recently bought a 08 xd used from a toyota dealer and it came with 18 inch wheels. She just had to take it in to get tie rods and a new rack and pinion the other day, thank god it was under warranty. the tires are 225/45zr18. Could the size of the wheels have caused these problems?

The tie rods were bad from the day we bought it but we made sure to get the warranty.

Just dont want this to happen again.
