I picked up my '07 Silver tc last night. It's a neat little car. I'm loving it.
I got the TYC tails and the TRD strut tie bar as my extras along with the air bags.
Like most people said there is absolutely no reason to change the oil on or before 1K miles...
OEM oil is usually high quality, and i believe toyota will not put bad oil in it...So i say full 3K miles on OEM oil..
First off, OEM oil is probably whatever they could get a deal on.
Second, its not the quality of the oil that matters in the first 500 miles of driving. The wear and tear of the motor is at its highest in the first 1k miles or so and its good practice to get fresh oil to it. If you think about it, the motor has to seat the seals, which means its not in its correct place at the time, which means some material is probably getting into the oil. Which is then circulated through your motor again and again.
