Default RECON enforced on Super Ferry cars from another island?

If a Maui car goes to Oahu, can they get busted for RECON which is Oahu enforced?

Maui Scions want to know...

Peace

anouther thing is getting safty checks what about that?? Lots of honolulu cars will go to maui and get saftey check..

They might only allow safety check renewal from the same island maybe....

NEGATIVE. Acording to the RECON law, you must have residence in a place of over 550,000 people. If your over here from Maui visiting, you do not fall under the RECON law. They can still pull you over and harass you, but you will be released because your car is registered to another island.

As for Oahu cars going to Maui to get their safety check to avoid RECON, your only paying another 100+ more dollars to get screwed harder. If your car is registered to Oahu, your screwed by RECON. Theres no way around it.

so can you get a recon ticket on Maui/Kauai if your residence is on Oahu? since they dont have recon laws but your car is registered where there is a recon law,

probably not right, I mean cali cars that get shipped here dont get emissions tickets,

just a thought that crossed my mind

There is a high chance they will let you go but no guarantee. And I think tint vs other types of recon violations might also make the difference. I think even if its not recon, things can be made just as bad if peeps want it to be...
