I've heard you can change the backlight colors on the buttons with the nav unit. Can you do the same with the Premium Radio?

Meaning can I ditch the amber backlight on the buttons?

My brother just got an xb but the base radio and it doesn't appear you can do it with that one...nothing in the manual and nothing I could figure out in the menu...

How about the premium?

 

Yes. With the car on, and the radio off, press and hold the "MENU" button in the lower left hand corner. A menu will emerge, when you get to "ILLUMINATION", press the silver volume **** straight in to switch to blue.

 

so i take it with the base module stero u cant change the colors at all?

 

premium = yes...follow above instructions.

Base Radio = No. Must do a physical LED swap to change color. Not able to do it through any function of the radio.

Has anyone changed the backlight LED colors by actually swapping out LED's on a '08 Premium radio yet?

I want to change the amber backlights to red to match the rest of my interior.
