Default cops target my vehicle.

Ok, so I'm driving home from dropping my friend off and another friend in his focus hatch is behind me, so i go from the light and floor it to about 50, in a 35. My radar goes off (note thie cop is about a half a mile down the road.) and I immediatley jump down to 25, because the speed limit changes in about 40 feet from 35 to 25.

So my radar is going crazy and I realize there is a cop on the side of the road, he wait till the three cars behind me all go pulls out and throws his lights on. He pulls up behind all of us and as each pull over he ignores them and just follows me. I make it to a light, turn right on red and into a parking lot right next to there.

The cop comes up and asks for license and registration and all the good stuff. So I comply in a state of depression and act sad because if I recieve one more speeding ticket, goodbye license. He sits next to my car and eyes down my registration and insurace like a hawk right next to my car? At this point im lost, im like what is going on.

He then proceeds with the other cop back to the vehicle. I watch outta my sideview mirror the passanger cop throwing his hands up like "What should we do?" and I can tell that is exactly what he is saying.

So another five minutes pass and still nothing. Finally the cop comes over and informs me that he is giving me a ticket for my license plate cover, with a confused look on my face I agree. He tells me that it is reflective and is illegal ( I know this and play dumb) He makes me sign and says, its getting close to curfew. I tell him i just left the central hockey game and dropped my friend off and am heading home.

He proceeds to just leave.

This isn't the first time I have been pulled over for something like this. I was pulled over earlier this year and the reason was my car looked like some sort of drug dealer car? I was taken out and searched. The my father contacted the officer and he said the car was suspicious and the blue underdash lights (i forgot to turn off ) were illegal and I was lucky for not gettin a ticket for those.

What is with this, I feel that ever since I've lowered, put and exhaust on and tint the windows the legal limit, there after me... WTF!

Yep... that's just how it is. If you call attention to your car, they will take notice.

Also... leave the underbody lights for shows... that'll get you nailed for sure. Plus, if the cop really wanted to give you a hard time, he could've said that blue was impersonating an officer (a felony).

and question, since he radar'd me a half a mile down the road, there was no speeding citation giving even though I was, If its under my understanding, he had no evidence of me speeding, or techniqually he would of given me a speeding ticket. right? when he came to the car he didnt even say that I was speeding

meh, you got off easy, i got pulled over and ticketed for speeding on a road i wasn't even on monday morning.

i was on I-70 west since 97, and just past the I-70/270 junction, i get pulled over by a state trooper who said he clocked me on radar going 82 mph in a 55 zone on 270 north. total load of crap.

well, i would like to know he must of has some initative to pull me over, and I WAS speeding, but i dont know how a radar works, not a gun the acualy radar. I got the reading a good bit away and was down in less that 3 seconds.

so i would like to wonder, did he know I was speeding, and if he did why didnt he even bring that up.

because if my dad talks to him, which he does allot of work for the cops, but doesnt know this one at all.

what will he say?
i mean could i of jumped down quick enough.

but if so, why wait on the side of the road and pick me up?

Lessee, illegal plate cover, jack-rabbitting, and speeding. Yea, lotsa sympathy here. The only thing I agree with you on is the underdash.
Ever thought that you bring it on yourself?

ok first of all, what do you mean by "radar?" it sounds like you're talking about your radar detector as opposed to the cop's radar gun. i'll answer both just to be safe.

-your radar detector simply picks up the radar wavelength and beeps at you. it's pretty much that simple.
-the cop's radar gun works pretty simply as well. it shoots the radar from the gun, and as the radar covers the distance between the officer and the car he's clocking, the rays spread out a little (unlike a laser which is just a straight line). So if you really were a ways down the road and surrounded by other cars, he probably wouldn't have been able to prove it was actually you who was speeding (if he even clocked you) due to the fact that at that point, the radar wasn't JUST hitting your car and bouncing back; it was also hitting the other cars, maybe moreso than yours.. All you would have had to do is go to court and say that you were going the speed limit and the people around you were speeding. That would probably cast enough doubt to where you wouldn't be fined. Basically, I would be confident in assuming he did not actually clock you definitively enough to single you out with a ticket. On the other hand, maybe you're not giving him enough credit. He could have seen your record that shows 1 more speeding violation means you lose your license and decided that he would ticket you for something petty instead. Who knows. $.02

thats a very valid input, my point here is it was a good half mile, with him in the same lane as me with at least 2 cars down bu him infront of me and 3 behind me,

while talking to he didnt say ONE WORD about speeding, thats where im skeptical. i mean with my experiences the officer comes up and says do you know how fast you were going.

i dont understand, just glad. and hope if my dad does say anything to him if he will insist i was speeding.

and forgot to mention this, my record is clean, i have a reckless driving ticket and citation from a wreck, that is techniqually not on my record but will reappear if i get another moving violation.

take off your exhaust, cops wont even look at you.

i got pulled over 4 times, and 3 times i got a ticket when i had my HKS exhaust, worst mod ever.

each time i was pulled over was for modified exhaust, however once i was speeding but the cop let me off with just a modified exhaust ticket so i was happy.

In your first post, it said that if you got one more speeding ticket you lost your license... that's a start.

And yea, underdash lights shouldn't be a problem

At the end of the day though, if the car's modified, it'll always be targeted.

Cops are out to get young kids in hoped up cars. I know, its happened to me!

When i first got my celica, my family and i were going to breakfast, I was doing the speed limit, following all laws, no modifications done to the car (except for window tint), and a cop pulled me over for that very thing, window tint! And that was the only thing he got me for.

And on a second occasion, I got lucky cause i was speeding to get in the other lane to get off at an exit and he warned me about speeding cause he saw me get off, but gave me a ticket for window tint again!

But like i said, they are out to get young kids.

^^ yeah, I honestly look 14...actually I've gotten as low as 12 as a guess for my age before and I'm 22 But anyway, I've been pulled over (always at night, surprise surprise) and they always have to throw in a "wow you look 12" or "oh my god you are really 4'9"?!??!" when they talk to me....
