Default Just ordered one today

I saw the grand showing of the xb last thanksgiving in SF and I thought they were AWESOME. Today I placed my order for a black one today. I liked the cammo too, but it matches my Rover too much. Anyway, I first said manual, but after testing the manul, I liked it better for some reason. It seemed to be a little quicker (which sounds crazy).

What would you guys recommend, manual or auto?

Ordered mine today.
2005 xB Camouflage, Manual!! Manual is the only way to go, especially with the small 1.5 liter engine. Was originally doing BOP with a few upgrades but realized the upgrades from the dealer are not worth it. Especially for the fog lights and tail lights.
Use ebay and the tutorials on the site.

stick hands down ....

i test drove both and the stick owns the auto .... its a blast to shift ... and it is proven that the stock manual is 2 seconds faster in the 1/4 mile then the stock auto

when you only have 108 hp .. every bit of help counts

stick!

Depends on where you drive, do you do a lot of freeway driving or do you live in SF?

i've got the 05 camo 5-speed xb. Love the color- especially b/c most xb's I see around here are either tcm, pw, or bcp. I have only seen one other camo and funny enough, we met it at a stoplight.

The auto tranny is fine too. It's not like its a dog and the stick isn't... Most people just aren't experienced at driving an auto correctly.

It just depends on what works for you. I've put 21,000 miles on my Box since December and probably less than 10% of that was on curvy country roads. The rest was freeway and in-town mileage. A stick wouldn't benefit me. If I drove less freeway, I would think about it. Also, you still have plenty of control over the tranny.

The auto also cruises at a lower RPM, I'm doing 3K RPMs at 80 when the stick is probably pulling closer to 4K at that point. Ask anyone that's seen me driving, the auto box goes just fine.

sorry, i dont mean just green, when i herd camo, i thought actuall camo. not a solid color.

i dont particularly like any of the colors. balack is cool, but it looks dirty all the time. white, same thing, and silver, everybodys got it. the blue and the burgendy, ehh, not my fav either.

i would like to see a red, or a brighter blue. i have also herd that you can order them in flat black/primer so you can have them custom painted. it this true?

Haven't heard about the flat primer rumor but if you do decide to paint yours camo you need to post pics. My question is would you use flat colors like army vehicles or use a glossy finish with clearcoat? I'd like to see both actually.

Well, I'll see what I can do for you guys. I've been planning it for a while. First I need to save up for the xB, then I need to save for the paint.

The rumor about the flat black/primer from the factory is proveing to be false so far. I went to the dealership today, but nobody knew what I was talking about.

I know I saw one in superstreet and it said it was a factory option to get it in primer. Eh, I'll have to see if I can find the article.
