Im looking for some lowering springs for my xb. Keep in mind some 17s are going on this spring. I dont want to drop it too low, because of minnesota winters and potholes/speedbumps/ect., but i still want something noticable. Also, ive heard that some springs will even improve ride quality. So whats right for me? TRDs, Tanable DF210s, Teins? I really dont know. And yes, i searched, but couldnt find something specific to my needs. Thanks in advance.

The TRD drop isn't worth it. It's not low enough to be noticed.

I'm on Goldlines (2") they run fine through Chicago winters... However, I'm thinking Tein S.Techs might be your best bet. It drops about 1.7". A good medium between functionality and drop. Plus, they are green if you're a color *****. :D

i agree. with your application needs tein would be your best bet.

Go with the Eibach springs, good drop comfortable ride and will work great with your driving conditions.

have you heard anything about ride quality on the teins?

I had the Tein H.Techs... they were nice, but I felt like I had to go lower. So the way I see it... why not do it right the first time and get that extra 0.5"?

The ride on S.Tech is decent.

decent, as in worse than stock? Plus, it will be worse with my new rims/tires, correct?

I currently have H Techs and I have no complaints. Sometimes I do wish I could go lower but reality sets in, I can't, so the H Techs are staying... :D

Any spring only drop will be slightly worse than stock... not a lot, but you might notice a difference. The reason being is the factory dampers are being moved out of their softspot and the stroke is being shortened.

I have Goldlines and had 17s on and the ride got pretty rough. Once I put the 15s back on it was much better. I'm thinking of switching to Tein H and maybe putting the 17s back on.

^ I think the ride is fine on Goldlines and 18s...

I've found that the Goldline springs have a lot of differing opinions surrounding them.

I'm in the same boat sorta, I'm looking at getting the road magnet springs with a 1.5 inch drop, I'm running 17's and I don't want to be beat to death on the cruddy arkansas roads, think this will be a good drop?

I don't understand how springs have any affect on ride quality. They basically just support the weight. The strut/shocks control the quality.

I went with Vogtlands for a lot of reasons and am very happy.

They are cold wound (so they don't sag much if any), they are progressive so they start soft and get harder as the spring compresses (they actuall ride initially softer than the stock but corner absolutely flat and DO NOT bottom), they are made in Germany and have been around for like 80 years or something (good quality), they were cheap ($150 including shipping from newedgeperformance.com) and they lowered it just a touch over 1.5inches which was exactly what I wanted

thanks, that helps give me an idea. Im looking for a 1.5 inch drop, and i think that those or TRDs will do.

I have heard and seen that the TRDs don't make enough difference that most people think they are worthwhile-good quality, just not enough drop

TRD's do not drop 1.5"s. If you had some H techs, I would trade you my Hotchkis ones cause they are 1.5"s of drop.
