Welcome to the site! Good to see someone else thinking small with their cars.

It's the way to go.

You sure picked the right forum! Welcome!

Like the pair... we're thinking of getting a Yaris hatch for my wife sometime down the line to go alongside the D.

I grew up in Texas and moved here from Manhattan. I used the term 'youse' to be humorous. I reckon some of ya'll thought I was from Jersey.

youse-'my cousin vinny'

Between the two cars which one feels faster, quicker and lighter-I know it might sound strange but those are 2 of the cars that I would most consider should anything happen to my xB.

Welcome!

Welcome!
The Yaris is lighter, and that's not always good. It gets blown around by the wind easily ( I live at the shore, windy here ) and it does not stick to the road like the Xd ( 15" as opposed to the Xd's 16" wheels ).
The Xd is faster by a long shot ( 106hp compared to 128hp ). The Yaris gets a couple more mpg for now, but my Xd is new and that will improve.
The Xd is more comfortable for me ( 6' 0 ) and the seats are firmer.
The Xd is ALOT quieter than the Yaris which seems to let in vast amounts of road noise.
The Xd's radio is much better.

I'd go with the Xd. Thanks for asking.
