Default Muffler removal

I am trying to take off the stock muffler to replace it with the DC exhaust and I am having the damnest time roming it from the rubber mounts. Anyone have any hints to help me get the stock exhaust off. Thanks.

The old trick: Spray the rubber bushings with WD40! Right along the metal peice your trying to push the bushing over. Does that make any sense?

Duh! I started down one path and just overlooked everything. Thanks, that will definately do it. I feel pretty dumb now, but at least will have the exhaust changed out in about 10 minutes now

It is in and sounds nice! I have been motoring around and starting to break it in. I will get a pic as soon as I get a chance. Just curious, fo those of you that have the DC exhaust, how long did it take to break in and stop burning off that new part smell? I know the engine took about 100 miles or so after I bought it. Thanks.

I will get pics very very soon. It is hard since I have over researched digital cameras and just never buy one. So I will take some and scan them shortly. As for Dyno results, I saw the following in another thread yesterday:

"The exhaust is good for 4.8 HP and 2 ft/lbs of torque to the wheels at 5,000 RPM."

So I think that is what the results are of one test on the Exhaust.

I can definately feel a difference over 3500 RPM in 1st, 2nd, and 3rd. It does seem a little less responsive in the low RPMs in 4th, but the higher RPMS, like over 4000, have better power as well. And the sound is nice and throaty. Alot nice than the TRD one I had seen at the dealer.

And pics are coming soon, hopefully today or tomorrow.

With these small motors, when you start adding the basics...I/H/E you going to notice that you're going to loose low end power.
