Default scion xa - avic head unit

Can someone please help me... the pioneer head unit requires me to tap into the back light lead, how far along the lead should I go before I tap in? thanks for oyur help in advance...

Look in the Wiring Manual for the light lead, the shorter the better.

You don't need a dash kit, but you will have open spaces on the sides.
