Default Help with my system

My new tC is coming in wed and im either gonna get the TRD suspension orsome nice subs and head. My question is what is the best i can get with $700? I'm not really worrying about mids and tweeters now. But if you would like to include those it would help too.

Could you guys give me some ideas in that price range?

Thanks guys

I'm the kinda person that puts stuff in right, if your going to do it, don't just get a sub box and throw back there, get one made to fit your car, and with the tC, some fiberglass would be sick, but that cost some money there, learn how to do it, or find a friend that can do it.

as for what to get, it depends on if you want sq or spl.

Since I just got them for my xb, ill recomend the infinity kappa perfect 6.1 components. You can find them on ebay for about $200 shipped. Also For the head unit, I would get the alpine 9831. So thats about $400 there if u get it all online, then u have 300 to get some subs of ur choice.

There's nothing wrong with having a good prebuilt sub box. I have a memphis audio box that's tuned for my memphis sub and I can remove it when I need to and it doesn't take up the whole back area of the xB.

Anyway, for 700 bucks you can get a nice system. Get a 5 channel JL Audio amp, a nice set of component speakers for the front and a tuned box and sub. That should put you around 600-700 bucks if you shop around. You still need a head unit but you can get something decent for 100 bucks if you look.

Yeah i dont think sticking a huge box in a trunk or w/e looks too great either. For the TC my plan would be 2 custom wedge enclosures in the left and right corners in the trunk, both sealed. Im not sure how 12s are gona fit in this thing tho.. only problem.

make the wedges big enough. and you can fit them. sounds like it will look good. you really should read some of the fiberglassing diy things on the internet, that would be perfect for what you want, it would get it to fit really nice. fiberglass is something you can take out later if you want, it just costs alot because of the hours that it takes to sand, but if you do it yourse;f you can cover it in a carpet or something and it would only tak acouple days to do.

Well im gona want something thats not visually appealing (lol?). The second someone sees something like that down here its as good as stolen. Id be perfectly happy if i could just fit a normal .8cu ft mdf wedge enclosure without having it take up too much space. Maybe ill try the wheel well placement..

Yank the spare tire, glass the well, and use an MDF baffle.

This may sound alittle weird, but i got my system at Wal-Mart (i know, i know) Igot 2 lightning audio subs. and a 900 wtt. lightning audio amp. Considering i work there, and the each sub cost under $40 and the amp just under $170, it wasn't halp bad. Seriously!! It sounded great! i had a lot of people comment on it and how much they like it!! and after i told them i got it from walmart they were like "no way". I had some (Jeff to be exact) install it into a custome box and he was quite impressed. After the install, The manufacture logo on the amp glowed a blue which looked reallly cool (not too over the top, but just right) I am more than happy w/ what i have. You should deffinitly look into lightning audio, if you just give it chance Hope i helped and good luck! :D

That's bull. A sub enclosure will stick out like a sore thumb even if it's perfectly matched to the cars interior. The only sub enclosure that I've seen that is not visable, is the one made for the storage compartment for the Xb. But if you don't have a cargo cover it still can be seen by the people who look into your car. There is no way of fully hiding a subenclosure if you want it to sound good. If you are in the wrong place at the wrong time. Your window will be broken and your car or stereo equipment will be jacked. It's a simple as that. I've seen it too mant time before. I don't care what kind of alarm system you have it can be stolen. Trust me on this one I know all the ways around them. When you grow up around thieves you learn from them

My advice would be to buy a part of the system you want instead of just buying a lot of stuff you know you are going to replace later. Spend the most of it on a good pair of subs and whatever else will fit in that price range. Then when you save more money buy the next piece. I learned a long time ago that if you buy something you aren't happy with, you're going to spend a lot more money replacing it later. Everything you spent to begin with will be a complete waste unless you are lucky and find someone to buy it from you.

munch, when your talking about a sub enclosure wedged in the corner it with matching carpet, it will look like its suppose to be there, we arn't talking about some huge sub box, just a little fiberglass sealed one to stick in the corner.

^ exactly. Plus.. i noticed that if you stick that cover that the tc has over the enclosure it should hide it pretty well. Especially for the wheel well enclosures.
I actually have a picture of it covering 2 12 w3s up pretty nicely. I suppose tint would take care of the rest.

If you don't want to spend alot , but you want to get alot of amp. I recommend The Hifonics Brutus 1000. You can even get the Brutus 500 to power these speakers. They both can be had for $200 and under. I have a pair of Brutus 1000's in my Xb powering a set of Audiobahn AW1008T and the hit hard in a vented box.
