i had already put this in another section of this site, but got no responses so im hoping you turbo guys can help me out...im getting some gauges for my car one of them consisting of an air/fuel ratio gauge and i know the best way to hook it up is go tap into the wire right by the computer, has anyone done this and if so can you point me in the right direction?? thanks a lot guys.
your supposed to put an o2 bung in the s-pipe for the gauge to get a reading. the car won't tell you otherwise.

the way an a/f gauge works is that you have to put the sensor in the exhaust system piping so it can read the emissions and tell you the a/f ratio.
to do this, you need to put a bung in your s-pipe. a bung is a small hole that the sensor can be screwed into and read the emissions, but not let any exhaust leak out.

ohh, you cant tap into a wire coming off of the computer reading it off of an o2 sensor wire? cuz if not, i was misinformed and its a good thing i checked on here before i did it. you guys seem to know most everything about these cars and whatnot. thanks alot man
It sounds like you are getting an narrowband o2 gauge. It will work just like you stated by tapping into an exsisting o2sensor. They are not good for tuning or even monitoring IMO...more of a light show/appearance mod.
You would be best to get a wideband o2 gauge, most kits come with a o2senosr and gauge.
If you are using the narrowband you might want to find an ECU pinout sheet.
