So i got a fix-it ticket a month ago for a bunch of correctable things. One of which is a 'Change of Address'. I mentioned to the Cop that I live in Irvine,CA (for work) however my license state's my parent's address in Walnut, CA. I want to keep the registered address as the Walnut, CA address. Has anyone received this ticket and talked your way out of it when going to the police station to get it signed off?
From what I was told, everything with your name has to have matching addresses. If the car and insurance were under your parents name with one address and your DL with another, it would be fine.
Well i am only in Irvine a couple days a week but i prefer important mail going back to where my parent's house is. And also my current address is only temporary, but failed to tell the policeman that when i was being pulled over.
Does anyone know if a officer has the power to overturn this citation regardless if it is actually fixed or not?
I might just try calling the police station but I never get a straight answer when i ask about these type of things.
