do you need a alignmet kit for a 2" drop to have a good camber alignment?or is there no need for it please help.......thanks

 

The mac struts are pretty much straight up and down along its line of travel, so whatever amount of drop you do, you really don't need any camber adjustment. You'll primarily deal with the toe and such.

Now, if you need clearance due to wide wheels, or drive somewhat aggressively, you may want 2 degrees of camber up front.

But as a daily driver, everyday car, and for a car to commute in, the factory settings are more than adequate.

I noticed that my front wheels are starting to sag recently. When I read your comment about driving aggressively, and needing 2 degrees of camber. I guess that is the problem. I barely know anything about that. I drive aggressively to balance out the slow speed of the xB. So, any more details would be appreciated because im not that knowledgeable.

 

By aggressive driving, I mean by driving the twisties, maybe some track time, or even auto-x'ing.

 

Hmm... nope I don't do any of that. But still, my front wheels are sagging. I'm on Tein S-Techs with stock shocks.

 

I'm dropped on Tanabe DF210's. No alignment kit needed. I just went to the dealer and paid for a regular 4 wheel alignment.

Anytime I do suspension work, or get a different set of tires/wheels, I get an alignment. I much prefer paying $40-60 for a 4 wheel alignment, than $230+ later for replacing two tires.

 

Yes...it is highly recommended. When you change the height of the vehicle, it throws off camber, toe, etc.

 

mac struts don't throw camber when hight is changed... its a lil hard to explain without picture to show why
